Rivercats Game

The Sacramento Rivercats suck. Well, at least they seemed to at last night's game. I was thoroughly unimpressed with their play, but the game was fun nonetheless. There was some crazy stuff at the game, such as Baseball Bingo, hot dogs being launched into the stands by a hot dog cannon, and stuff like that. A few of my underage co-workers (the hosts -- all but one of the servers at our restaurant are over 21) had flasks with them and got pretty drunk at the game. It was amusing.

After the game, Diego and I went back to the house where I waited to see if anyone was showing up for poker. Jason is still out of town for his birthday (which is tomorrow), and a few people had called me to tell me they couldn't come. The only people who wound up showing up were Carl and Vince, so the three of us gave Diego a Texas Hold'Em tutorial for a little while. Carl and Vince left around 1am.

My tickets for the Ted Leo show and both New Pornographers shows in September came today. I really like how quickly TicketWeb ships their tickets. You would think that TicketMaster, with all of its fucking fees, would ship tickets considerably faster than they do. Still, I know that I won't get my tickets for Arcade Fire and the Decemberists for probably two weeks.

Speaking of shows, I found out that MIA is playing in SF the same night that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is in October. That's really unfortunate, as I'd like to see them both. CYHSY is opening for The National, so depending on what time both shows are, I suppose there might be a chance that I could see their set and go to the MIA show, too. We'll have to see.

Time to finish getting ready for work.

shows, poker, baseball, concerts, work
