Supernatural 3x07 - Fresh Blood (high res caps)
As ever, if you're looking for anything other than squee, this is the wrong place to look! I am so in love with these boys, I just can't say!
So, on to the episode. I'm not sure if it's just me, and the somewhat odd mood I've been in this week, but I came away from this with the main impression of a quiet episode. Considering all the chasing and fighting and knives and danger, that doesn't entirely make sense to me, but yeah, more of a quiet, thoughtful episode than the others we've had this season. Maybe it was the lighting, back to the more muted tones of previous seasons, lots of night-time shooting. Or maybe it was the feel of things between Dean and Sam. Whatever it was, I loved it. I'm sitting here, feeling quietly happy and loving my show more than ever.
And okay, it was a little anvilicious on the 'can you imagine what it's like to lose everyone' angle, but it's the CW, it wouldn't feel right if it weren't a little over-obvious.
Basically, I can't think of a thing I didn't love!
So here's what I loved. Sam looking up to Dean since he was four, and telling him that. Telling him he knows Dean better than anyone else in the whole wide world and that he loves him and. Well, he practically did! And wow, did Jared nail that scene! He wasn't the only one with a tear in his eye.
That final fight with Gordon, them getting split up and Dean desperately trying to get back to Sam, and Sam throwing himself at vamped up Gordon and OMG, they fight well anyway, but when they're saving each other's lives, they just go crazy, and I love that.
And Sam sitting on the cooler box at the end (was he twisting bottle caps off with his bare hands?) and then Dean being all big brother and teaching him car stuff. ♥
Gordon going out the way he did - wow, I loved to hate him, but that was a bitch of a thing to happen to him. And Kubrick too, crazy Kubrick, such good motives, such a nasty end.
Bela's little 'oops' when she realises it wasn't two against one. I love that she sold out the Winchesters, that she's not softening up at all. Hope she stays that way.
And Harmony Lucy!!
