On Monday Brandon and I went to the Hakone Japanese Garden in Saratoga. I honestly was a bit disappointed with it as I had expected there to be more things to view. The bamboo garden was closed. The hours are a bit lame as they close at 5pm meaning the time of day with the best lighting is unavailable unless I go there during winter (which i may do). I was having a hard time due to the harsh lighting so I ended up not feeling very inspired.
One of the various issues was that it was near impossible to get a shot of the main garden without there being other humans in it
I love the japanese maples
There were lotsa turtles (i love turtles)
... and fish (uber koi)
There were also ducks ... the guy in the front is yelling
I daydream of a proper macro lens
Tree
Dangerous Monkey
Water falling stuff
Squishy green stuff and rocks
On the way out I actually saw some flowers. In the rest of the garden they had already stopped blooming.
After that we went to Santa Cruz. The traffic was absolutely horrid on the way there. I was starving so I thought I was going to die(car sickness, sun headache and hungry).
We ate at some mexican restaurant that had the name "Palomar" in it (i like palomar, vrrrooom). The food was good ... however I ate way too much and felt really uncomfortable for awhile after. There was a needing to pee while walking around incident that thankfully ended without a mess. We decided to go to the movies and watched Episode III. It was ok. Better than the others but still not a movie I go "woo woo!" about. Anakin is a spoiled brat and the actor makes the annoying face very well. Thankfully the only words uttered by Mr. Jar Jar Binks was "scooz me". There were some rad ass special effects tho' ... like the bad guy robot (whatever his name was) ... awesome smooth motion.
There's some crazy looking people in Santa Cruz. One of these days I'll take pictures. The guy in all pink scared me.
It was a good day. :) I've been sort of living off the good of that day all week ... :)
Beep.
