I felt sooo bad for Jamie having to beat poor Fergus. I thought it was weird that the staff was basically just setting everything up for it.
I live for Jamie-isms. :)
Oh Murtaugh. How he's grown on me. I really do love the guy now. Rough around the edges silent type, devoted to the end. Come on, how can you not love him?
Can I just pretend BJR is still dead? I get really choked up in this part. He makes me feel ill.
I'm ok with the hair cut. :P There is a time that it has to go!! I'm sure he is still just as sexy.
I have a final thought - I guess it's just the time but every time Claire drinks alcohol I cringe. I guess I would have thought that she would know already that this was a bad idea, but what do I know.
Is it wrong of my to almost dread the next chapters with BJR? Argh.

I know. I love Murtaugh too. I really love this part when he's down on his knee asking Jamie to take his life. Poor adorable man.
Me too. I remember how sick I felt reading that BJR was alive.
Oh no! We disagree! I want Jamie's hair to be there. I love mere idea of it.
OH I Know! I forgot about that! It bugs me too of course some of the things she is drinking... isn't actually alcohol but she does drink during the pregnancy! Did they know about alcohol and babies in the 1940s? I cringe too.
No! I dread them too. I hate them passionately!

I always feel that way too, but I'm not sure that even in the 40's they were all that aware of the effects it could have. I feel that way in all historical books when they drink coffee too, although that's still a debatable issue and some think it's not a problem.
"Is it wrong of my to almost dread the next chapters with BJR? Argh."
No, not at all. I think anyone who has already read the book feels that way. And perhaps even on a first read you have that, "I don't want to know, but I have to know," reaction.

So with you there. I actually looked up a few of DG's "facts" and this woman is awesome. She really makes things as true as possible and tosses Jamie and Claire into the mix. I love that. It is like she's inserting them into history rather than making history conform to them.
2. Very true. I think it was necessary but I hate it.
3. Heck if I had a man who clearly loved my arse as Jamie loves Claire's I'd be happy. Because as I recall there is always physical proof that Jamie means it.
5. Yeah, it does come across strange. I think perhaps Raymond knows more than he's telling.I really think Raymond knows a lot more than he's telling. When I first read this book I thought these moments were so odd. I've heard speculation about it but we won't know anything until DG tells us more ( ... )

I love it too. It's like some of the Quantum Leap eps where he interacted with historical people, Marilyn Monroe, Stephen King, Buddy Holly, etc, and something he did or said made them who they were. Cracks me up.
7. Totally agree, it would seem like punching Frank.

Heck I wouldn't mind punching Frank.

10. That is so amusing and I love the image of him when he admits to it. I hope someday we get to SEE this image ( ... )

LOL I don't know, it depends for me, but for the most part I much prefer short haired men.
"16. So true but I like to think of it in he way that (Janeway's headache is coming) either way she would have ended up in Scotland. Say she's not married to Frank because he hadn't existed but something else brought her (vacation with other nurse friends?) and she ended up going back anyway. I think the big things will always find a way to happen. My theory."
Oh, no I totally get that. I love the what if in fiction, I think that's what keeps me writing. It's the beauty of fanfiction too. You can play in an established world and do with it what you want. So I'm right there with you on thinking it'd happen somehow.
I am in San Francisco so I probably won't get much of a chance to listen to more of DiA, but I'll be back at it on Monday after we get back. Just thought I'd let you know if you wondered about an even longer

Cool. You are in SF! I love SF. Vacation? I only live about 3 hours from SF. I don't get there often but it is great. I remember the first time I went... drove over the Golden Gate with my best friend. She totally freaked.
Let me know if you did any site seeing. I love SF.
