Long time lurker and first time poster.

For those of you who have animals in their rooms, how have you 'organized' it all, so to speak?
Just out of curiosity. :)

Due to a request in a way, I'd just like to say before you click on the cut, that it might be upsetting to see
my bunny, as he isn't able to move anymore etc and it does tend to be ( Read more... )

I don't know what that is in the 2nd pic, if that's a bunny I think you need to take better care of it. It looks raggedly and like something's wrong with it.

The OP clearly said that the rabbit was quadriplegic, a quick google tells you that 'quadriplegic' means paralysed in all four limbs.

I know what quadriplegic is thanks.

I just didn't read through it closely enough, I could have sworn nothing was written about the rabbit before.

I would euthanize the rabbit if that were the case.

Well, something was written.

And why would I go ahead and kill a being that tries his utmost best to take care of himself, still gives and gets love, eats like a mad person, and isn't in pain on good days, of which there are a lot?

What a cute bunny! I don't keep mine inside, but I think stackable plastic boxes and keeping everything fastidiously clean is a good bet!

Thank you.

I hate keeping him inside but I have to because he can't move around anymore,
and thus isn't able to fend or look after himself.

That does sound quite helpful! :)

I have three hamsters - one syrian and two dwarves. They each have separate cages because they bitch a lot when they have to share a room, hahah. But the syrian has a larger cage, she stays on my bookshelf. The dwarves have slightly smaller cages that fit next to each other in the shelf under the syrian. Oh and I also have a cat! (which is why I have to keep the hams on my bookshelf, lol) Her litter box is in my closet (it's a walk in closet and her box is cleaned very often, so it's not really a big deal that it's with my clothes) & I keep her food in my bathroom. Awww I just love animals :)

I know the bitch and cat problem!
I have had to keep my rats separated at times because they dislike each other at times
and before one of my guinea pigs died the other one was really pestered to no end.
And my cats run for the rats / guinea pigs whenever they can :p

But the way you've done that with the litter box sounds quite smart.

Aw, cute bunny!

I made a C&C cage for my guinea pig, since the store bought cages are much too small for them. They're fairly big but I built a shelf with the cubes under the cage (ground level) to store all the pet supplies. With the bunny, you could make him a nice space underneath the guinea pig cage and therefore not "waste that space". Since it's open on all four sides it's still light and airy, even though the coroplast of the piggie cage creates a ceiling.

On top of the piggie cage you could keep the rats and then have all the fuzzies in one spot.
Here's a picture of my piggie cage:

Those cages are really spacious and surprisingly nice! definitely.

I might give that a try, it's just that my pig freaks out so much,
thus creating a chain reaction at times =P

Was it easy to built the cage? because i really like the design, especially for storing the feed etc as that really takes up place and gets messy.

It was super easy to make. I think it took me a couple of hours at most and I was by myself. The scoring of the coroplast worried me at first but it was really easy. It's also absolutely water/pee proof.

I kept the food in old ice cream containers instead of in the bags, which also cut down on the messiness.

If you need any more info, just send me a message. I'll see if I can find some more pics of my cage, but the website I linked you to in my previous comment is super helpful.

You're bunny is so precious, but gosh that poor baby :( Good for you for taking care of him, many people would of put him down.

As for the storage thing, I use those Sterilite drawers from walmart.. like this

It's horrible as he used to be a very playful and busy bunny.

Those seem very handy. Right now I simply have all the feed stored in containers on top of the rat house (to their amusement of course)

Is it difficult having a cat in your room btw? I've come across so many people having it like that these days.
