So I've now managed to upload the entirety of chapter one for your reading enjoyment. Even with minimal feedback, it's been a fairly rewarding experience thus far. I feel like I've taken an important step toward sharing my art, and I hope that I can generate a little bit of buzz.
Shadow of the Spire is a dark modern fantasy tale, with heroes who can bend the fabric of reality and perceive the world that lies just beneath our own. From Boston Harbor to Denver to the lands beyond the fairy mists of olde, and all the realms between, a dangerous entity threatens the safety of all men, and only a handful of individuals can even see it coming. And the quest to stop it could easily be over before it's begun.
In the first chapter, I introduce our three principle protagonists, who currently live worlds apart (quite literally, for one of them). John Harper is a Boston detective who is slowly dying from lung cancer, but his senses tell him that something evil is awake in the quiet streets of Boston, something that he and his brethren have little chance of stopping. In Colorado, Cara Landry is fighting for her sanity and sense of self as she returns to her hometown to reacquaint herself with her estranged son. And finally, we meet Adinar, a prince of the Sidhe, preparing to embark on one final quest as a storm threatens to swallow his changeless realm and put an end to their eternity of solace.
Between them, they may just hold the key to unmaking the horrors of the Beast and putting a stop to its pending reign of terror.
