The great thing about my grandparent’s flying down is

1: I get to see them and

2: I get to eat at every Korean restaurant in K-Town.

Everyday has been a feast, yesterday when I was in class, I kept dreaming about the delicious dweng jang soon doo bu chigae at Bok Chang Do Soon Do Boo jip and how they were all eating there w/out me. (Including Rowan who said it was delicious gRr). Somehow the McDonald’s that I picked up in starvation (and I’m a big Micky D’s fan) did not taste as good. Anyhoo, we hit our favorite joint, SeJong. We go there so often the owners now know us and get this…I get SERVICE!!! Now whenever I go with my grandparents, he always ALWAYS get’s service…service means getting those extra special side dishes you normally would have to pay for. Such as, Mandoo (Fried Dumplings) or bin dae duk (umm Korean pizza?) or both or more…But whenever I go on my own I never get it (I know, so sad!) But the last three times Rowan and I have gone there, we kept getting it…I first thought it was a fluke b/c maybe they thought my grandpa was there, but they kept giving it! The last time, the owner actually greeted us and told us we were good customers and he will take care of us, so yes I can officially now say I get service!! (it’s the little things that make me happy, and does that make me an ahjuhmah?). That’s right, when Olivia’s in town, I get respect!! =P

As I get older though, I realize first and foremost, I cannot live w/out my Korean food, it will always be my favorite. I have tried many types of food and especially like certain ones such as Indian (Nataraj mmmm), Japanese (Sushi Inn mmm…), Greek (Asteria mmm), Tibetan (Everest hehehe) but if I HAD to choose one it would be my kimchee and bap (and dweng chi gae (Korean miso soup?) and kalbi (Korean bbq ribs) and mul naeng myun (cold noodles) and bi bim bap (mixed veggies w/rice) and gam ja tang and um you get the point. You know that heavy garlic smell that wafts through many Korean ppl’s homes? I like it heheehe, poor Rowan, good thing I only make Korean food like once a week! Ppl need water but I need my Korean food, Dear GOD I’m becoming more like my mom…(but that does not make me fobby) It’s early in the morning and I haven’t had breakfast so yes I am really hungry right now. =P
