Good news!
I got into UT's musicology program.
YESSSS
What an incredible relief! I did not expect to get into UT for a number of reasons including: 1.) I did not submit my supplemental materials before the deadline 2.) I wasn't sure that my reference letters actually made it there 3.) My personal statement was really thrown together and 4.) I have low self-esteem and therefore don't usually expect good things to happen to me.
However, I am in. I told Louis today and he was perhaps more excited than I am. Somehow! He said he was so happy he could cry, which was hilarious and adorable. I love Louis. He is my favorite human being. He has a good friend who teaches there whose primary focus is New York post-punk which is something that I LOVE so I am very excited to meet with her. Furthermore, the two schools I have yet to hear from are UMich and Duke are both, according to Louis, probably inferior choices to UT. So there is a good chance I will be moving to Texas? This is weird.
