I met Paula at Yongning station and we took a bus to a rural-ish area of Taipei full of old red brick buildings. I got to try something very similar to a hard butter croissant in passion fruit flavor which was a local specialty. Yummy. I ate a leisurely breakfast with Emily (the super, super awesome girl that I'm staying with). She took me her favorite breakfast place and we had these awesome fried crepes with whatever filling you wanted inside - I got a tuna, egg, mayo mix and she got bacon and cheese. Had an amazing night. On my plane flight I sat beside a very nice, chatty elderly Japanese man who couldn't speak a word of English but found out soon enough that I spoke some Japanese. He spent the remainder of the plane flight telling me of awesome places to go in Osaka and Nara - and even drew me a lovely map full of illegible kanji. Haha.
