Zombie Consumer Day: my one year in DC

Nov 25, 2011 10:57

Have I really been in Washington D.C. for a year now?! How has it been so long since I've returned from Australia?! Have I really been back in the U.S. this long?! It kind of makes me want to cry; I really want to leave the country again! My finances say otherwise for the time but it will happen again; I will make it happen again!

All I have to do today is a yoga class - my first in a month - but I'm not sure if I'm up to it (yet again). This time I have a nasty bruise on my shin from a literal run in with my bed corner. I'm still limping a bit. I wonder if yet again I'll have to cancel? I've got an hour to decide.

Philly is happening this weekend. I get to go to Kabuki STOMP where D.J. Sisen from Tokyo is spinning which I'm looking forward to. A couple of my friends are DJs so I get to tag along.

Had a decent Tofurkey day, except without both turkey and tofurkey. I ended up at an early dinner (late lunch?) at a rather posh restaurant with my coworker and her mother having pumpkin, crab, and truffle oil soup and cheese + spinach stuffed trout and chocolate lava. Well, not exactly Thanksgiving-like but it got me out of the house and I got to eat good food so I am not displeased. I spent the rest of the evening vegging out on the couch with my Aussie housemate and my newest housemate. He decided that we needed to get late-night Chinese food (he spent 30 minutes trying to find a restaurant that is open and delivered at 10pm at night because he was really craving it!) and then proceeded to snack on that and chocolate and wine. It was actually a better night than I thought it'd be. I'm generally liking my housemates now so that's good. One of them is actually coming to the Tori Amos concert that I've got tickets to in early December.

And now a meme yanked from promiseoftin:

It's just the way the operation made me
