So Halloween was a bit lackluster, truth be told, but not all bad.
I ended up spending the afternoon to early evening hanging out in CBD (ie downtown Melbourne) on the steps of Federation Square just sort of hanging out and later on reading a book soaking up the nice weather until the sun set and it got chilly. Made my way back to the house where I met two of my lovely housemates, Matt and Leyla, for Australian-styled nachos (meaning Doritos with salsa, cheese, "guacamole", and sour cream - no beans, good tortilla chips, or real guac, sadly, but what can you do?), delicious sangria (Matt is awesome!), and later on soda floats (or "spiders" as they're called here) with cream soda. We watched Invader Zim all night long. There were (surprisingly) a couple of cute little trick-or-treaters well under their teenage years (so maybe around 9ish or younger) in adorable costumes with their moms and yeah... It was an ok night.
Today I've been procrastinating on writing my school essay by making yummy M&M cookies and apple-raspberry muffins with Leyla. The cookies are lovely and very fitting for Día de los Muertos:
I also bought fixings so later on tonight we're all having soft tacos for dinner. Yummy!
It's a bit odd having roommates that you do stuff with - I've never actually had that before - but it's kinda nice...
