Yesterday me and some friends attended the event Kjæmpestaden in Arendal, and I dare say this years event was as fun as last year. We probably attended less events, but it was largely compensated for by the visit of the sailship Götheborg. I was joined by
sneprinsesse,
plasmaregn,
solbirger and Sofie, and behold! we all attended in Regency outfits! 't was fun.
I wore my green, stripy Regency dress over a cream (Renaissance) chemise. I also wore a garnet necklace, black Chinese Mary-Janes and (on and off) a partlet. It really is a comfy outfit, and it was cool to be able to wear the dress to the event I made it for in the first place...
Some random pics:
plasmaregn and
solbirger looking perfectly period - except that the latter had forgotten his cane. Oh, the shame...
Little drummer boy?
Christin from Nordisk informasjonskontor in a lovely Regency outfit. I especially loved her navy velvet spencer, so "Pride and Prejudice" (BBC version, obviously...)!
...but which hat to buy? Lovely hats made by Stadshauptmand Jarle from Arendal Borgerlig Militaire.
On the other hand, why buy a straw hat when you can get an uniform hat WITH a handsome militaire man underneath?
The sailship Götheborg. What a lovely view!
The Swedish flag looking awesome in the wind.
A group picture of us. From the left: Sofie,
solbirger,
sneprinsesse, myself and
plasmaregn. The picture was taken in the military camp of Arendal Borgerlig Militaire, their website has many lovely pics already:

My corset making friend Anette. She always looks like a piece of art, a mixture of Edwardian style, Dita von Teese and steampunk. Her corsets are amazing as well. I've bugged her to update her website (
http://www.nymph-nouveau.com/ ) with more pics, and she said it's coming. Hooray!
This looks so period.... Except for the bottle of sunscreen... He-he-he.
sneprinsesse is assisting
plasmaregn.
On deck of Götheborg
Another picture of Götheborg. "The Black Pearl", anyone? We went on board, and it was very cool as well. The upper levels truly is a perfect copy of the historical ship, it was awesome to see. The lower decks are more modern, but we didn't go down there. We stayed with the sailors and the cannons, where the action was! He-he-he.
