Cordy was filing her nails. Xander was checking to see if there were any jelly donuts left.

Willow was surfing the internet. Buffy was bored.

Buffy’s mind was wandering to things more important.

Would Angel be at the Bronze tonight? Should she wear her new leather skirt?

Giles stopped talking and just watched the teenagers.

Why was he wasting words on these children?

Buffy blew a large bubble of gum and popped it all over her face.

Giles sighed and rubbed his eyes. “The earth is definitely doomed.”
