Ilsa is doing her errands, but today, that means a trip to the grocery and cooking most of the day.

[COOKING WITH THE WINDOW OPEN? Good enough for him as he peeks in. Well, he knocks on the side of the window first, so he doesn't seem like a creeper.]

Hail.

Heyla!

[ Nope, she's not drunk, not by a long shot, but she's comfortable in the kitchen. ]

[ Roasted peppers and onions are cooling on the counter as she is cutting up the chickens very enthusiastically.

What are you making in here? Smells pretty good.

Pollo en Mole Rojo, it translates to chicken in red sauce. Something my aunt taught me while I was in San Antonio.

[ Still disassembling the first chicken. Her knife skills are solid, here. ]

Even as Anglo as this town is, I was able to find most of the spices and such for a passable version of the mole.

[Nall's on one of his wanderings when a unique smell catches his attention. What is that?

He follows the smell to its source and hops up onto the window, poking his head into the house. He pauses before announcing his presense to listen to the song, although he can't understand a word of it.]

[ Ilsa glances over at the window, smiling at the "cat", then looks again and registers the wings. ]

Oh! Hello!

[ The smell is partially the vegetables roasting under the broiler and the spices toasting in the dry skillet. ]

Pollo en Mole Rojo, erm - chicken in red sauce. A family recipe. Just a minute...

[ She takes a moment to flip the vegetables under the broiler ]

Are you the only flying cat-like person in town?

[He is walking around with a cart that is mostly empty except for a bottle of wine and a bag of potato chips.

He's frowning at a list that he obviously did not write. Looking around and wandering the store.]

Captain?

[ Taking in his confusion at the list, she asks ]

Need help?

[No he's not.]

All that and a bag of chips?

You're sure?

[As Ilsa shops, she may encounter a familiar face perusing the wine offerings closely. Grimsley will cast an eye briefly at her cart before shaking his head once.]

I regret to inform you, madam, that what passes for quality vintage in this town would be declared offensive by even the most novice of sommeliers.

[ Ilsa nods, in sad agreement. ]

Until I can get some tools of the trade myself, it will have to do. That's why I'm also getting the fruit. Sangria is one way to make it at least a little more palatable.

. . . Are you a winemaker? Hm. I'm impressed. I haven't the least idea how to begin aside from crushing grapes myself.

I dabble. With cousins in the business, it was an easy hobby to pick up. Mostly it takes patience and attention to detail.

[There's a pink-haired girl in a short-sleeved dress, a basket in one hand and a list in the other, giving possibly the flattest stare that you ever saw anyone her age wear looking blankly at the entire rack of spice products.

She must be either completely out of it or secretly very confused. ...Or something else, her expression really isn't telling at all. She's not in your way though, so you can easily walk past her. Still, ask?]

I know the spices they have here are limited, but are they that offensive?

[ She gives a smile. ]

[She blinks and turns around.]

. . .

I don't know what I should be getting.

It depends on what you're cooking.
