WHO: Rhode Kamelot [
dolcezzamacabra  ]
WHAT: A simple trip outside to wait for a ride home ends up as badly as Rhode could imagine. ( AKA, Blasphemy's going on a hiatus and we do love plotting good reasons for Rhode to be MIA while I'm gone. Sorry for the fail!writing, did it in a bit of a hurry. )
WHERE: Down the block from the Hitachiin Clothing Store
WHEN: After Rhode leaves the Fashion Show

The cool night air was a sharp relief for Rhode, brushing the heat from her skin with the scent of the city and the ocean somewhere nearby. A few steps on her heels went well enough, but as soon as one shoe found an irregularity in the sidewalk she fell with a yelp and a curse. That was the end of it. She yanked the strappy shoes off with a growl of irritation, pushing herself to her feet and straightening her dress. Much better.

She started off down the sidewalk at a lazy pace, watching the street for any sign of the car meant to take her back home for a few minutes before turning and pacing back toward the entry. It was quiet for the time being, with the majority of the guests still inside the party, and she fully intended to use the peace to think. After her conversation with Hei, she felt better about the outcome of her disobedience, but she was certainly thinking about what might happen if she made the same mistake again.

After several long minutes of pacing and thinking, Rhode pulled her cellphone out with a soft sigh. Leaning against a hitching post at the edge of the street, she flipped through the numbers, pausing on Gin's cell number and contemplating the screen with a torn expression. A long while passed with much silent debating, but she finally pressed the Send button, holding her adorable pink phone to her ear and biting the inside of her cheek as she listened to it ring.

Rhode let out a soft sigh of relief when it switched to voicemail, closing her eyes and composing her message in her head as she waited for the beep to signal the recording.

"Hi, it's Rhode. I just wanted to call and tell you I'm sorry about tonight- I mean, not just tonight, but everything with Gavin, too, but I get it if you're mad still..." She trailed off, sighing into the phone before continuing. "I won't break my promise again. It wasn't-"

She didn't quite know what happened in the moments that followed. Someone grabbed her, she opened her eyes to see one of the vans that were all too familiar- She screamed, or started to scream; the phone dropped from her hands. Something picked her, and Rhode heard the phone hit the concrete as she was dragged inside the vehicle, one hand still gripping her shoes tightly as she struggled, but it was already too late to escape.

The door to the van slid shut, darkening the interior of the car in the last instant she managed to stay awake.
