I received an email, from the Falconbridge Scholarship committee..
Hi Chelsey,
Thank you for submitting your scholarship application package. At this time, we are only missing one piece of information: a completed advisory recommendation form from Mr. van Raadshooven. Would you please follow up with Mr. van Raadshooven to obtain this information, and forward to us as soon as possible?
/sigh
I should have saw this coming. He gave me his word he would have it mailed a week before the deadline. I apologize in advance for this generalization, but men are so unreliable. Of course Mr. Van would let me down when there was $3500 on the line, when I have an excellent chance, because there aren't that many Falconbridge employee children graduating with four years of mid 90's averages plus four years of extracurricular involvement. Actually the Sudbury contingent of Falconbridge employee children isn't that big, last year they gave out 24 of 30 allocated scholarships, as either people didn't apply or didn't meet the minimum graduating average (I believe it was 80 or 85).
So I give Mr. Van a call this afternoon, of course he doesn't answer his phone so I left a message. Two minutes later he called. It was weird, I haven't talked to him in a month. This is the longest I've went without seeing him or speaking to him in over 2 years. I miss him immensely, he was probably my most important mentor, personally and musically, over my high school career. Anyways, he told me he would take care of it, he took down the number of the Scholarship committee PR person and he said he would call her and get everything straightened out. He said he would go look to see if it was left in the office at school, or do whatever so that this aspect of my application is fullfilled. I hope he follows through.
