Door County's pick for Jan/Feb Community Reads is The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R. King.  It's by no means a favorite pastiche of mine but it means that there will be a bunch of Sherlock-related community activities, like book discussions, film viewings, honey-tasting, and a couple radio plays.  And the kickoff get-together is tonight.

Haven't yet seen "Elementary."  I know one acquaintance loved it but a friend didn't so I'm not sure what to think.  But I do want to give it a fair shake . . . when I get back to WI.

My reaction: generally I liked it.

I knew the actor playing John Riddell in DW - "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" looked familiar!  It's D.I. Lestrade from "Sherlock"!

Makes sense.  Both are BBC productions, after all.  Now I'm definitely in favor of seeing more of John Riddell.  :D   (Although why they didn't just call him Alan Quartermain and get it over with is beyond me.)
