Happy new year!
last day of holiday before school starts. thought i'd share.
i'm doing research on my term paper, which is interesting but boring at the same time because all the experts say the same stuff. i wish i could just BS my way through this without experts' quotes. it would be so much easier. but no.
so this weekend i did a bunch of stuff. went to a party at Paola's, ate 12 grapes at midnight, stayed up until 6 in the morning. had a horrible headache. oh, and I saw the movie Fun with Dick and Jane, which, without the bank robbing, is essentially my life on the big screen.
it is a very traumatic thing to see your own life on the movie screen. i don't know if any of you have ever experienced this, but it really messes you up a bit. Please, friends, I ask you not to go see this movie, so that the people who made it can get no profits off of making fun of my life, and the lives of thousands of other normal, innocent people like me. I can't really get emotional about it now, because it's only 10:30 in the morning and i'm sleepy, but trust me, after i saw it i was really really angry all night. It always hurts to be personally attacked, but this hurt more because those people don't even know me. they don't even understand that I exist, and that I might stumble accross their cruel torturous idea of a movie. they didn't for one second think, "hey. we shouldn't make fun of Enron. there might be some people out there whose lives have been damaged by it, and they might not see the humor in Jim Carey representing their pain with his weird voices and contorted facial expressions, running around screaming, 'I'm going to be indicted!!'"
God. the ignorance of it. it's stunning. they should win an award for most insensitive movie. it's like a comedy about the Holocaust. I'm totally serious. Not cool, man. not cool.
with that out of the way, I hope you all have a wonderful 2006 (and I sure hope it's better than 2005) and I hope we can stay in touch in the new year.
Love, Caitlin
