many updates
Well lots of stuff has happened. well not really, but it seems that way. I'm sure as soon as I type it all up it will look small. anyway - here goes.
- i got deferred from Georgetown. meheh.
- i got INTO CHICAGO! my dad and i immmediately started planning out my whole life. it was fun but really weird and freaky in retrospect. i decided on my favorite dorms (shoreland or max p) and then on all the required classes i have to take and whether i have to get 4s or 5s on my APs to have them matter (4 on Stat and French, 5 on Gov). It was rather crazy. I am so sad that I have been reading the U of C livejournal community every couple days to see what people have to say. meep.
By the way, in the whole college decision scheme of things, I have no idea if I am going to Chicago or not because I have not heard from the 300 other schools I applied to (really 8). But out of the ones I have heard from (Loyola, Tulane, U of C) I would definitely go to University of Chicago. But If I Get Into Georgetown (unlikely), Yale (more unlikely), UVA (eh, maybe) or Harvard (so unlikely it isn't funny) then I will think seriously about it, and probably not go to Chicago. Just so you all are caught up on that.
- CHRISTMAS happened. yay for that. It was all over very quickly and I find that i received a bunch of ... stuff. it was very nice stuff, like some earrings, some chocolates, a cd case, tea, and a knitting calendar (yay!) but nothing big or notable or exciting. It was very nice though. I did get a $200 gift certificate at Anthropologie, but that store is so expensive that I spend the whole thing and bought 3 items. yikes. It was a nice quiet day and though it didn't snow like last year, i still had a wonderful time.
- I worked a lot at the PURPLE GLAZE which is finally open again (dunno if i mentioned that before but it is). It is now in Rice Village, which is very nice, close to Madeline's house (where I live a lot of the time), and near fun shops and restaurants that are overpriced but have cute waiters. :)
so there you have it. my prediction was right. all of the above is what my life consists of at the moment. drop me a line. I'll be home or working all week. talk to you all soon and have some safe and happy holidays!
