I Am Nerd
I was wafting around aimless in the internet when I realized something. I am pretty much ignorant of most internet memes, folklore, and ideas. I have no idea why Nikola Tesla, Grumpy Cat, or Chuck Norris are so awesome. I have no idea who Bad Luck Brian is. I'm not scared of Slender Man or whatever Creepy Pastas are.
My internet intake is almost exclusively Nerd. My YouTube subscriptions include all three VSauce channels, SciShow, Minute Physics, MinuteEarth, a bunch of "top 10" channels, Wow related channels and music.
I just spent the last three hours watching videos on the PBS Idea Channel on YouTube.
Of course, I pretty much ignored popular culture when it came to TV and movies, so this is probably nothing new. It just kinda struck me as I was watching these videos that I could follow his comments about books, math and science info, and history stuff better than I could follow his connections to popular culture.
