Along with my sudden devouring of books recently (if only I could digest them), I seem to have very little interest in watching any new shows.
For a while, I watched a lot of Korean dramas. One thing that drew me to them was that they (often) told a complete story. I was weary of the sort of storytelling I had been seeing, in which you make a show for a season, and if it's renewed you make another season in which almost nothing has actually changed. After watching Damo (which affected me for other reasons), I found a lot of stories I liked. And The Legend was pretty much the fantasy series I'd wanted all my life. But I just don't feel interested in the new kdramas that have been coming out since... Queen In-Hyun's Man, I guess.
This is something I had also enjoyed about some BBC dramas for years. Six episodes... a story. With an ending. It was nice. (And there's no "too many times" for watching North & South...) This is also true of so many cdramas, though in that case I'm learning the language so it's not just about entertainment. And suddenly I'm remembering that I need to finish Lurk.
Maybe reading is filling all my story needs for the moment.
