I'm not familiar with the customs over there that stem from religious backgrounds - but, a thought that occured to me in regard to the customs and superstitions that are common here, based on a religious background or having directly to do with contents from Christian church itself: Hundreds of years ago, they didn't practice religion in the same way as today. A lot of knowledge about how did something come together is lost in time because there are no notes left, or they're hidden deep within the archives of the Vatican. Things believed today as a "must" that cannot be avoided, or contradict the contents of the church - they aren't as much a dogma as it's made to believe. If things aren't any better, even church has to bow down and change some of its concepts

Traditions...might be but it is more about capitalizing on those fake sacred things to extort money. It struck me how much content can be found right now in social media about making traditional baked goods etc with the intent to attract an audience for ads and make some pennies. The same was a century ago: the painting was used for supposedly healing purposes. OK, if traditions are so dear to someone they should keep them for themselves and cherish them instead of using them as a tool to make money.

A certain course for "back to tradtions" is somewhat present here too - a course for that and then a course for "let's move ahead to something more "progressive" (which I think isn't really progressive, but just propagated American culture, including its scientific errors and mindset specifics that are just resident over there and not all over the world

You just don't realize how much Russia tends towards the ultra-right spectrum of...I think the American conservatives. They just changed the name and obviously, nationalism is directed against everything that is not Russian and supposedly traditional. I follow the trends that trumptards are into and it is a perfect match what a lot of the Russian population--due to propaganda-- seems to be into: nationalism, religion, militant antigay and antiabortion, conspiracy theories, essential oils, and homeopathy, etc. and a cult of the national leader. Germany probably is not to that point...yet.

Пожалуйста, Андрей. Я очень кратко написала, поскольку сейчас аудитория так же как в "святой Руси" не только глубоко или все же глубоко религиозна и может осилить только заголовки и некоторые ключевые слова. А вообще эта история имеет много интересных подробностей: и то, как собор взорвали совсем юные мальчики, которым эти религиозная трагикомедия с лицемерием и одурачиванием-- главным образом тех, кого и без того уже все, кому не лень, обобрали и одурачили,--и невежество, порождаемое всеми этими традициями. Я же не зря в одной статье расписала их истоки--доисторических, порой пещерных времен

Оксан, лично я разумеется предерживаюсь относительно религии ленинской позиции, но они сами породят на свою голову новых Уфимцевых, и это при наличии произведений Ленина, которые стараниям и попов в том числе, не будут ими прочитаны а вот вопросы к "святым" освященным Майбсхам, а точнее к их рясоносным владельцам у людей уже появились...
