NRE Tournament Pictures

The photographer who came to our flyball tournament posted the pictures to her website.  I'm pretty sure this is illegal, but I'm posting the ones she took of Faith.  I'm going to buy at least a few, but I haven't decided yet which ones I want!  Our tournament was this photographer's first time doing flyball--I think she specializes in agility shots.  They all have watermarks, so they're a little hard to see in some cases.

Faith is (in my unbiased opinion, at least) a very beautiful dog, but she's usually not that photogenic.  Maybe it's a black dog thing.  Still, check out this box turn!

This shot is even more impressive with her box turn!  I've spent a long time teaching her a swimmer's turn, and she doesn't have as good a turn as some of the dogs, but, as this shot shows, it ain't bad!  She's pushing off the box nicely here instead of wasting time building up speed on the ground.

Another nice box turn, although this is during warm-ups.  (I wish that little gutter prop was allowed in the real thing.)

Here is Faith having a blonde moment.  :)  Ears all over the place, one foot on the ground, and no ball!  I think it's still cute, though.

Second try in the same heat--success!  It's easier to concentrate when a) the other team finished the heat a long time ago and b) there are no longer any points at stake.

Here are a few funny pictures of Faith and me during one of the warm-ups.  These were taken on Sunday, and we had sixty second warm-ups.  That minute really flies by when you have five or six dogs who need to warm up!  Before I release Faith, I hold her with my legs and use my hands as blinkers, so here we are in our "ready" position, waddling down the lane as we wait for the dog before us to finish.

I mentioned I use my hands as blinkers--apparently I also sometimes completely cover poor Faith's eyes!  Me: Rrrreeeaddyyyyyy...BOX!  Faith: Wait, wait, I can't even SEE the box!

Luckily the box is right in front of her, so she figures out where to go when I unblind her.  The insane Aussie in the background is Bliss, who is one of the many dogs belonging to our team captain (the woman holding Bliss).

Pretty poodle face!

This was definitely the most fun of the tournaments we have so far attended.  Not only was it Faith's best performance, but I really liked the whole not-driving-and-having-to-stay-in-a-hotel thing.  On the other hand, the people who did drive and stayed in hotels also didn't have to help with the set-up or (worse) clean-up.
