I've been trying to see Sigur Ros for the past five years! Every time I find they're coming to town, the tix are already sold out, or I can't get out of something! BAH! One day, before I die, I will see these guys live. But for now, I'll settle with AT&T Blue Room's webcast. Bah.
I remember the first time I heard these folks was on a old Riffage.com (now defunct, GREATEST indie music website ever!) mp3 CD they sent me with tons of other great artists. The song was "Svefn g Englar." I remember playing the track on the music player included on the CD, and then being totally blown away. It was like nothing I'd heard of before.
Tonight I hope to get a taste of what "Vidrar vel til Loftarasa" sounds like, as well as "Svefn g Englar," "Staralfur," "Olsen Olsen," "Saeglopur" and "Glosoli"
EDIT:
[in heavy Icelanding accent] "There some technical bullshit going on!"
The camera work in this one was bloody brilliant so I got a lot of really good screens!
