This is all too familiar

Helicopter number 3 just turned back because the boat was rolling too much. Chopper 4 has already left and if it lands, I will not be on it when it leaves. Unlikely previous crew changes when a helicopter didn't make it, off signing crew for chopper 3 will still be on the third chopper to land. I was scheduled for chopper 4, but because of the size of choppers, I will now be on chopper 5. However, if I were a betting man, I would wager a substantial part of a month's pay that we have had the last helicopter landing until things get better. Latest forecast, says that will be Saturday!  I certainly hope so, I will run out of my crestor supply for my cholesterol on Sunday night.

We have the same party chief as we had with all of those screwed up crew changes when I was working in the Gulf of Mexico. And just like those trips, the party chief got off on the first chopper today. Color me disgusted!

We just had a short time with a green light on the helideck, but it went red again real quickly. Fourth chopper from shore is now about 10 minutes out and if it lands, chopper 3 from the boat will head to shore. We will see and hopefully, I won't make another post from the boat until my next trip...time will tell!

weather, helicopters, crew change
