Since I had to send my laptop to shore already, I have been using OWA to check my corporate email. Since it is unlikely that I will be getting any more work related emails tonight, I went ahead and logged out of Outlook Web Access. In doing so, it will automatically close the tab where I was reading my email. This is not a problem, but apparently when Internet Exploder closes the tab, it also logged me out of everything else I was logged into.
It is still questionable as to whether crew change will take place tomorrow or not. This evening's forecast was calling for 2.4 meter average seas at 9:00am and a peak wave height of 3.1 meter and winds gusting to 18 knots. Winds and waves are supposed to be building all day long and by 15:00 the winds should be gusting to 26 knots with peak wave heights of 3.3 meters. I suppose mostly it will boil down to three words, "direction, direction, direction!" If we follow the edict of the regional vice president for acquisition about not breaking off of a line heading for helicopter operations, then crew change is extremely unlikely. Fortunately, it is not likely that we will heed that edict so chances are about 50-50. The relatively good news is that I am scheduled for the fourth chopper. If it leaves Rio according to schedule (amazing how big a word that two letter word "if" can be) then about 11:15 or so, I will be leaving the boat. I suppose time will tell. If anyone has intimate relations with the weather nymphs of Brazil, some kind requests on behalf of my shipmates and I will be greatly appreciated!
If I am lucky, and the people handling my luggage didn't destroy my laptop, my next post will come from shore and may be a couple of days away. If my luck is bad, I may be posting a bitch fest in the morning!
crew change,
