At this point I hope Buddie happens solely because the Buddie shippers have been INSUFFERABLE since Tommy showed up. And sure there were a few crazy Buck/Tommy stans but them complaining about this is like that spiderman meme. Nobody's more toxic than the Buddie shippers right now, unfortunately.

so long Tommy, we hardly knew ye. I will say the actor actually did some good work in the breakup ep, he sold that. Before that I wasn't too impressed.

The actor who plays Eddie keeps giving interviews talking about how Eddie is straight and that he thinks it's great to show a straight guy and a bi guy (Buck) being best friends and not having Buck's coming out arc change that. I really don't see Buddie happening, and tbh with how unhinged some of the stans are, I hope it never does.

oh god, i really hope you're right because i really don't want ryan fucking guzman involved in a queer relationship on any show ever. oliver handles this all so well and ryan would for sure show his goddamn ass.

I mean, I feel like at a certain point the show would do anything for ratings, so who knows! But this article has some quotes from Ryan Guzman that really don't seem promising

you're so right on the ratings, but these quotes give me a little hope!! and it's weird to agree with ryan but he's not wrong with them getting a nice chance to just show those two as friends.

He's talked a lot about toxic masculinity, and specifically how growing up, showing emotion or real connection with male friends was viewed as unacceptable and he wants that to change. If he has a say, I really don't think the story he wants to tell with Eddie is the one the shippers want.

i think oliver would probably agree with that too, but he has to be even more careful about the shippers since clearly they will get upset about him even saying let buck fuck.

People definitely read wayyy too much into everything. For those comments, I do think it's an odd/maybe tone deaf thing to say when you're being interviewed about a break-up episode? Knowing that the viewers will have just seen the episode and might be sad about it, it's kind of a hard pivot to "I'm excited for Buck to be single" or whatever lol
