I am someone who believes that our current justice system is inexcusably, irreparably broken. I believe in an abolishment of the death penalty, I believe in significantly more rights for inmates (including a right to an education and access to food that is healthy and not comprised significantly of maggots,) and I believe that most non-violent crimes are committed due to illness, poverty, mental health issues, or some combination thereof, which do not inherently speak to the quality of the person incarcerated for them. I believe that there are good people and there are bad people but by and large they're the same people
