Indie Film Release Guide: September 27th [An ONTD Original]

Sep 26, 2024 10:01

While the recent Transformers One didn’t make much of a splash for a children’s movie, Universal’s The Wild Robot looks to make bigger waves, in both this weekend’s box office and the upcoming award season. Sony’s Saturday Night also premieres in limited release this weekend, but all of the weekend’s other releases hail from indie studios, including the long awaited and much maligned Megalopolis.

The films listed are from studios other than the “Big Five” - Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., Walt Disney Pictures, and Columbia Pictures. Note that some of the movies listed are in their first week or two of limited release in the USA, so it may take them a few more weeks (or months) to show up in your local arthouse theater or on VOD. Check out the posts from the past few weeks for more movies that may have just opened near you: September 20th, September 13th, and September 6th.
