If you are Old like me, you probably know Judd Winick as one of the roommates on the third season of The Real World (which most people remember for the endless fights between Puck and Pedro). At the time, Judd was a struggling cartoonist. After filming for the season ended, he and fellow castmate Pam began dating and eventually got married ( Read more... )

I'll die on this hill that the show really changed for the worse with Boston because that was the first year nobody in the house was local, so nobody had their own shit going on outside of the house. Everyone had to be all wrapped up in each other's business and there was too much drama. But that was the blueprint for all reality TV that came after, so I guess kudos to MTV for figuring that out.

I loved Boston though haha. While I think it had been going downhill already, I think Las Vegas was when it was over for me.

Yea, I feel like Vegas was when the door really closed on the concept of people from different backgrounds and points of view coming together and really focused on the partying/hook up aspect.

Why did Trishelle immediately pop into my head? Weird what our brains retain because I can't remember anyone else from Vegas.

Once they went back to NY (oh hey Coral and Miz!) it wasn't the same.

Lmao I immediately thought of Trishelle too and I'm positive it was also her in that one scene where she said she didn't feel like going to a "ghetto" club and she got called out for it. Super weird what our brains retain 😅

Yep. I was 13 when Vegas came out and even I as a teen knew the show had gone downhill. I grew up watching Seattle, Back to NY, Chicago, Hawaii, and New Orleans and those seasons were top tier. (Though I did rewatch back to New York recently and it's actually super boring). San Diego was alright though.

San Diego was the last season that I watched in full (I watched some of the Philadelphia, Austin, and Key West episodes but not the entire seasons). Sometimes I randomly remember Brad and Randy dressed as Mario and Luigi.

Even though I didn't love that season, I do quote boom bazooka Joe for no reason pretty often.

I loved Boston. Vaj screaming at Montana on the phone, the folks getting fired from their job, that white guy's use of guyliner.

I think the producers gradually realized that the locals on each season tended to be low key (but coincidentally, the show’s locals were often the older people in the house which was probably another contributing factor). People like Pam, Mo, and Irene still had jobs and things to do besides hang out at the house all day aka less time to get into petty fights with their roommates ( ... )

Yep no TVs either, although I always figured that was more of a sound issue. I know some of the contestants on RPDR have talked about how being so isolated really makes you crazy and take the game way too seriously.
