really sad episode, ow. I guess this must have been the show Leighton was talking about when she says her love interests in things now are like, 50 ( ... )

being righteously furious because you lost your best friend should honestly be enough.

I agree! Especially since she kept hammering home how Amanda was her best friend in 03.01. The lead up to that relationship being more wasn't really there. It should have been enough.

Why is Charley being "forced" to say though? Why can't she just leave? senshi_forever July 9 2022, 14:55:56 UTC
he raised an interesting one about how thoughtless it is that Charly's being made to serve on the bridge with Isaac and how command is being unsympathetic to her pov.

Okay, this is something I'd like to discuss with other people since I'm curious about this whole concept. I really, really don't understand why Charley seemingly chose to take a posting aboard literally the only ship in the fleet with a Kaylon member as part of the main crew. I don't understand why there wouldn't have been other postings on other vessels. I also refuse to believe that she didn't know about Isaac beforehand, unless she took the posting before Isaac was reinstated -- since the timeline on this isn't very clear from the show itself (so this is possible). But even if that were the case, why not just transfer once she realized he was coming back? Cassius transfers when Kelly breaks up with him in season 2, Kelly offers to transfer in the pilot, it seems really easy for people to transfer to other ships/postings at any time, for literally any reason. I don't ( ... )

Possibly! Maybe she's staying out of spite at this point? She thinks she's worthier of being on the bridge over a war criminal. Like I mentioned upthread, when the show started The Orville wasn't the choice assignment in the Union, but now it would be "the" place to be.

That guy's point was also that somewhat nonsensical things are being done to serve the plot, and that command would have evolved past the point of compromising their ethics by keeping Isaac around, which I disagree with and I think the show's made a good case for why he's still there.
