i think it's so common that half the time we don't even recognize gaslighting, if anything it's under-stated.

it pisses me off so much cos it just....it makes the word mean nothing, just like « triggered ».

plus gaslighting is such a hard thing to understand and explain yet you have people walking around spouting that they were gaslit when they mean « forced » or bcos someone lied to them theyre like, omg gaslighting!!! if u dont get ya dr phil goofy ass outta here

Drew was a child star and blowing coke with adults in clubs at age 12. When she says she was gaslit into thinking Woody was fine, she means by the industry as a whole from a young age.

Maybe it is just me but if I ever had a chance to work with world famous kiddy fiddler I would run away as fast as possible having kids or not.

Hollywood folk has this strange stance on doing things only when it obviously affects them or not.

That's not Hollywood that's humans lol, people in general are pretty self serving.

You're correct though just looking at recent headlines is enough to see that the world is full of hypocrisy.

mte.
there’s so many stories of regular families refusing to believe their own kids (and/or protecting the predator) when it comes out another family member molested them

Oh well that makes perfect sense, thanks for sharing!! As a woman with no children, I have no humanity nor empathy for others--ESPECIALLY children.

Don't you know. We will never know what it truly feels like to love or care about another human being because we don't have kids.

Where did she say that?

Having kids painted her own experiences in a new light and opened her eyes to all the lies she'd been fed at the time. That's... normal.

I admit that I have a huge knee-jerk reaction to people having to experience a situation to understand. That said, I am glad Drew gave Dylan the platform to address what happened to her and hope Woody Allen's career crashes.

honestly, i think that this is as good of making amends that someone could do. not only does she admit that she regrets it, she's giving dylan a platform to continue spreading awareness about what woody did.

she had such a fucked up childhood, makes sense to me that having own children changed a lot for her view on things

That was my thinking too. I remember there being stories about Jack Nicholson raping her when she was a young teen. Sad to say, he probably wasn’t the only one, and she was probably conditioned to think it was normal. Having her own kids probably made her realize that 12 years should not be having sex with middle aged men.
