Maybe it is just me but if I ever had a chance to work with world famous kiddy fiddler I would run away as fast as possible having kids or not.

Hollywood folk has this strange stance on doing things only when it obviously affects them or not.

That's not Hollywood that's humans lol, people in general are pretty self serving.

You're correct though just looking at recent headlines is enough to see that the world is full of hypocrisy.

mte.
there’s so many stories of regular families refusing to believe their own kids (and/or protecting the predator) when it comes out another family member molested them

i have two separate gfs who were molested by their mom’s boyfriend. one wound up pregnant, and she was tossed out at 16! it happens so frequently it’s mind boggling

It seems like so many times it's the people who were abused that end up isolated from the family and not the abuser, it's disheartening.

or my family, that never left the Catholic church even tho the Boston Archdiocese protected priests like the one that abused my uncle.

I don't follow his career at all (the only movie of his I've seen is Antz lmao) but was he a known kiddy fiddler back in '96? It looks like he hadn't married his stepdaughter yet, but was it known that they were dating?

his pr machine was in full force, just as it is now, spinning it all as a web of lies and painting him as a victim and Mia as the scorned ex.

The info was out there but not like it is now and his team did a great job of making Mia seem like a scorned and unhinged woman.
My mom is in her 50’s now and I she didn’t really buy gossip mags or anything but I remember once in the late 90s I wanted to rent a Woody Allen movie. I knew his films were considered the pinnacle of cinema but had not seen any so was curious and she told me that she wouldn’t rent it for me because Woody Allen was a pedo and she didn’t want to support him. I remember her also saying how did people not believe Mia when he married Mia’s daughter that he helped raise.

Yeah, I don't really blame Drew for working for him way back then because she was pretty young and I don't think it was common knowledge that he was terrible...at least, there wasn't concrete evidence until he actually married his own (adopted) daughter.

I side-eye celebrities nowadays much harder who still work with him. Especially people who already have A-list careers and don't need the boost!

I don’t either. This post is tripping me out. Sometimes I think people forget how far we’ve come with certain issues since we definitely still have a long way to go but even in families this stuff is swept under the rug. Yes why’re expecting people to have the same level of caring or awareness that people do now.

He began his sexual relationship with Soon-Yi in 1991; he publicly declared so in August of '92, amidst the allegations of molestation against him by seven-year-old Dylan.

His career should've ended there, but it took, what, almost three decades for actors/actresses to stop working with him? Basura.

especially considering that daughter was literally adopted out an extremely abusive situation & grew up on the streets eating out of garbage cans. literally she never stood a chance, she was so fucking vulnerable when he chose to predate upon her.

I think people often use art as an excuse for it, as if the crime (especially if there aren't many victims) is a small price to pay for the great, meaningful (citation needed) art they're making that'll reach millions. And the world agrees since we're often told to separate the art from the artist the minute said artist is revealed to be problematic.

I wouldn't want to live without art, but so many artists have a sense of self-importance right up there with doctors & lawyers, and the general public completely validates that.
