Nah Cory is super nasty to everyone, like that whole power trip where he told the producer that he literally greenlit the money to make a pilot so that she could see how shit her own taste was. He straight up took down Fred so he could take Fred's position and while he hasn't shown him to be a sexual predator (yet! Trust no man!) his motives weren't about cleaning house but about gaining power ( ... )

I didnt get thats why Cory greenlit the pilot? that scene seemed to be highlighting that he isnt bothered by making severe changes or people thinking he's crazy, I didn't see it had anything to do with the producer. just that when he saw the pilot he didn't like the show and he wasn't gonna put a bad show on the air that was it.

He goes into this long baseball analogy and I forget the exact wording but he's like "Sometimes you give a player you know is a failure a chance so the scout who was pushing him can see that they made the wrong choice" only meaner. To me it seemed like a direct hit at that producer.

According to Mark Duplass he came forward because he was in love with Alex and didn’t want her fired. 🙄

Oh lame.

I always thought it was clear he loved Alex, but as a friend and colleague. I really don't want the show to hook them up (lol how funny is it that he loves her and she so clearly knifed him though? Gotta be a big hit to the ego.)

Yeah, “it’s always been you, Alex” was supposed to be confirmation of him pining and he wants it explored in s2 and I’m like “but that would be so boring!!!”

I wish they dragged out Alex vs. Everyone more because that was more interesting than the weird quick fix of the finale. I think it made her a more interesting character to explore, but that kind of messiness is something I don’t think the show has the range for.

I was okay with the amount of Alex vs everyone we got. IA the show was never going to make that character a full on villain, but I'm happy with the amount of messy they've made her (I loved that scene where she went to reconcile with her daughter and then ended up screaming at her and stealing her peace offering pizza back).
