Yabeki - Chapter 14
So time had passed and now the day Nishikido Ryo had dreaded above all others was finally here. His stupid (though really quite wealthy) uncle's leaving party.
Having made sure to tell Yamashita's sister (whose name he couldn't quite remember at that point) not to talk to anyone, he'd gotten them in and managed to find somewhere to sit without being bothered. The Nishikido family weren't all too interested in Ryo - so long as he was continuing to live up to expectations, which his father assured them he was, then he wasn't important. Ryo liked it that way, but it made for a ridiculously boring time - and checking his watch, he confirmed that it'd be another hour before he could make his escape without being rude.
"I'm bored." he complained to nobody imparticular, folding his arms.
Rina however wasn't even close to bored. She was way too excited to realize that there was nothing to do, because she was - after all, with Nishikido Ryo! Oh how excited she had got once Tomohisa had told her that Ryo, RYO, wanted her to be HIS date. So because of this she'd spent a ridiculous amount of money on her clothes and make-up for tonight.
"I'm not!" She replied cheerfully as she took a look around - still smiling a lot. "I bet there's lot of things to do!"
"Oh yeah?" Ryo raised an eyebrow, turning to her and trying not to look unkind. It wouldn't be very good if she got upset at him and ran off, so he had to try being nice just for now. Just until they got out. "Like what?" Because really, all this was an excuse for the older members of the family to talk about stocks and business and compare swanky accessories. He really didn't care about any of that.
"If there's no one else to talk to we can just talk, the two of us, right?" Rina nodded, putting her both elbows on the table to rest her chin in her hands. "Even though you and my brother are friends I barely know you... so can't you tell me a little about yourself?" Failed attempt to be mature and interesting no 1.
Ryo blinked a little at that. Now he was being interviewed? What the hell? "Huh, you wanna know about me?" Stupid, she wouldn't have asked if she didn't. But he didn't know what to say, thought it was way too weird that he'd have to describe himself. "...Anything specific?" He'd answer questions, sure, but monologuing? Not cool, or the slightest bit enjoyable.
Rina smiled at that. She had thousands of questions and was right now wondering what to ask first. Though, being naive as she was - this came first: "What's your favourite music? And color? What club in school are you a part of?" Oh, she longed for when she'd be able to ask 'do you like me?'.
What ridiculously stupid questions. Why would anyone ever need to know these things about him? It wasn't as though Ryo wanted to be her friend or her boyfriend or anything.
"I'm not really bothered about music." Ryo commented honestly. He'd always just listened to whatever other people put on, whether he liked it or not. "Favourite colour is yellow." An oddly cheerful colour, considering his general personality. "And I don't have time for stupid stuff like being part of a club." Here was where he was supposed to ask her in return, right? But... He really didn't care, and thus just fell silent.
"Ah sou..." Rina nodded, a bit surprised at the short reply but continued the nodding. He was so cool... "What do you want to do in the future?" Seriously, no. She didn't realize how stupid these questions were.
"Why do you care?" Ryo raised an eyebrow, thoroughly unimpressed and no less bored than he had been a moment ago. Now he was bored AND annoyed. Not good, definitely not good. "The future's the future, I don't care until it happens and neither should anyone else."
"Because-!" She had started but then cut herself off once Ryo continued. That was true... Ah, how amazing he was with words. So deep, and so cool... Rina put her hair behind her ears - trying her best to be as cute as possible. Which wasn't too hard because no one could deny the fact that she was, in fact very cute. "Ah~ Should... should we take a walk?"
Ryo's respect for Yamashita (the male one, that is) had increased rather a lot already. How the hell did he live with this girl every day? "If you want." he muttered without enthusiasm, fixing his hair as he stood up. The doors were open and apparently the garden was open for their perusal judging by the amount of people he could see out there already, so he figured they'd go out there. It was a nice garden, after all.
Without thinking, he took Rina's hand (having remembered her name by this point) and led the way. It would be better than being in here, anyway; at least there was stuff to look at outside.
Rina's heart immediately started to race extra fast as Ryo held her hand and without saying anything she followed him to wherever he went. Probably she'd follow him to the end of the world too. He just was... so cool, you know? Shigeaki was cool too... but he was always so stiff and just cared about sex anyway, or so she'd heard from her friends. But Ryo wasn't like that at all. Not... even a little bit. He was silent, mysterious... and so cool looking!
Ryo didn't like this, wasn't enjoying it at all and wanted very much to let go of her stupid girly hand. But that would look weird to anyone managing to see it, and he couldn't afford to upset her yet.
"So." he muttered, wanting just to break the silence. He didn't have anything to say, but... Yeah, silence. Not fun. "Ran out of stuff to talk about already?"
Besides not liking silence much, Ryo had to keep conversation going with Rina or else he'd get relatives thinking it was okay to come talk to him. Perhaps not inside, but now they'd gotten into the (very pretty) garden he could see his cousins not far away - and while they hadn't seen him yet, if they did and he wasn't doing anything? They'd make it their business to make sure that he was. Because they were like that.
"N-no... um... anou..." Rina mumbled and looked up at him, this would be a great way to confess - wouldn't it? Because, look - he was holding her hand! So all that needed was for her to confess right? And then... aah... He cheeks suddenly felt a little bit warm, just by thinking about it and before she had any chance to stop herself she'd said it.
"... S-suki desu..!"
See, now this was just absolutely fucking perfect. Of course, Ryo had known she liked him for a very long time - her brother had always thought it was pretty funny. But she had to confess right now?! Jesus! What the hell was he supposed to say to that? 'Sorry kid but I have a boyfriend'? Nooo way, she'd go around telling everyone and... Argh.
So what he decided to do was basically lie to her, pretend he liked her in return and then he'd let her know later that he was very sorry, but she was just a little too young for him. She'd be upset, but she'd get over it - and he preferred that she hate him than like him anyway.
"I was hoping you'd say that." He lied easily, grinning in that terribly charming way of his. God but he could be a real asshole sometimes, and he knew so but... This was necessary. For him, anyway.
Oh now she died. Like, you know, for real. DIED. Her heart most definitely stopped beating, her whole face was read as a tomato and her mouth dry. He was HOPING for her to day that? He was... wow. You know, like just. Wow.
"Re-" she licked her lips and swallowed so that she'd be able to talk without sounding like a 90 year old obachan who'd been smoking all her life. "Really...?"
"Of course. Why do you think I wanted you to come here with me?" Ryo tipped his head a little as he asked, going for maximum sexiness. Or something. Even though that kind of, in some weird way, made what he was going to do that little bit worse. Well... At least she'd be happy for a while? Yeah, that's it. He was doing this as a favour to her, not rejecting her in such a place or at such a time that she'd be embarrassed in front of so many people she didn't know. He'd wait until they were alone to let her down as gently as possible... Because he really did owe her that much. Or would, by that time.
"I'm just glad your brother didn't tell you before I got a chance to." He sounded so honest, thanked every deity he knew that he possessed the talent to lie so convincingly. "I've really liked you for a while now, but I never imagined you'd feel the same way." Just a little weakness there - he knew enough to know that showing some weakness was appealing to 'girly' girls like Rina.
Indeed that was appealing, well... appealing wasn't word enough probably. But anyway.
Rina stared at him with big eyes as she felt some sort of happiness run through her. She was so stunned though, like couldn't find any words AT ALL because she was so damn happy. She had just got herself a boyfriend! Nishikido Ryo even... Aaaah... wait until Haruka got to hear about this. Damn she'd be jealous!
He wasn't sure who it was, but at that point Ryo heard someone call his name. Dammit, he didn't want to talk to his stupid family, they should've known by now to leave him alone! Well, there was really only one way to avoid them and he was looking right at it. God, he wasn't going to enjoy this at all... The unidentified voice called again, and Ryo just really hoped Rina didn't mind as he quickly leaned down and kissed her.
There. Now that he'd shown himself to be rather obviously occupied, hopefully he wouldn't be bothered by anyone. Though he was rather more disgusted with himself than he had been a moment ago.
Yamashita Rina was now dead. Seriously, dead. Her heart didn't beat and she wasn't thinking at all because you know what? Nishikido AWESOME Ryo kissed her. Yup, HER. Oh my god.
Uchi Hiroki whined to himself, looking around as he entered another street. He was working, which was reason enough to whine, but lately he'd been told to do errands as well. Like, deliver stuff that people wanted and such.... Which meant he was in deep shit if he wanted to get out, because obviously a club didn't deliver stuff... but he did now have a briefcase in which was... something, he didn't know but it was important and he had to hurry because- Nishikido.
... Wait, what? Hiroki stopped and backed up to look at the sign again to the house he just had passed. Nishikido.
There was noise, even some music but mostly loud talking and that meant that- Damn this house was big. Hiroki took off his cap and looked around, sure he knew Nishikido wasn't a name that unusual, but... lately he'd been rather lucky! So maybe he was lucky tonight too! Slowly he walked in on the small yard that was in front of the entrance to the house and then saw where all the people were standing. Yes, in some garden to the left and-
Wait. Pause, rewind. Stop walking.
Hiroki saw the back of a young person and thus took a few steps further, only to see who he really had wanted it to be a few seconds ago. Nishikido Ryo. HIS Nishikido Ryo. He was kissing, he was... he was kissing some girl who- right now- put her arms around him.
The hell? Hiroki quickly backed up and even faster than that he left the area belonging to Nishikido and instead hurried to find whoever it was this briefcase was going to. Because that was what he was supposed to do! That was what he got paid to do! Because he didn't get paid do not do his job! He didn't get paid to see Ryo kissing some girl! Because that was not his job to spy on his boyfriend! Or... well, his... his... his what? Ryo was his boyfriend wasn't he?!
Completely oblivious as to Hiroki being there at all, Ryo broke the kiss some seconds later and smiled at Rina. It was the sort of smile that said 'I should be sorry, but I'm not really' - you know? Yes, just like that. "Sorry, I should've asked before I did that." he laughed a little. But then that made it sound as though he couldn't keep his hands off her - dammit! He was just way too used to being the best boyfriend a girl could ask for (at least, around here anyway), didn't know how to stop a girl from becoming attached to him. Because if Rina got too comfortable being with him and then later he told her he wasn't going to date her...
It was so horribly selfish, but he didn't want her to cry simply because he didn't want to feel guilty about this.
"Uun...." Rina shook her head and shyly looked down before looking up at him again. Ugh, so girly. Blushing of course. "You can do it again if you want..." (Someone please kill her?).
Ryo forced himself to grin, knowing that there was only one acceptable answer to an invitation like that.
"Okay then." So he did.
The time was... Hiroki had no idea what time it was, but it was early, early in the morning anyway and he was heading for Koyama Keiichiro's house. He knew that it probably (well maybe) would make Kei upset, that he'd come there this early but... he didn't care right now. Because he had just gotten back from work and didn't feel like going home and cry himself to sleep - why not? Because it simply... because he didn't feel like it! And he had to talk to someone about it. Seeing how his best friend (aside from Ryo) obviously wasn't at home he thus headed for Kei's room instead.
Yes, room.
As soon as Uchi reached the Koyama (not very big) house he looked around and found some gravel on the ground, which he started to throw up at the window on the second floor which he knew belonged to Kei. Probably he was sleeping, but hopefully not deep enough not to wake up because... Because Hiroki needed to be with at least one friend right now.
Tap... Tap... Tap...
Koyama Keiichiro frowned and turned over in bed. What on earth was that annoying noise? Almost as though someone were throwing things at his window - but who would be throwing things at his window at such a ridiculous time?
He tried very hard to ignore it, but the tapping continued and it was really getting way too annoying now. He sat up and stared at the window, as though that would make it shut up - and then saw what looked like a very small stone hit it. Why on earth was anyone throwing stones at his window?! He got up, still in nothing but his underwear, and crossed the room to find out. He threw open the window with slightly more force than was perhaps needed and leaned out of it, not noticing the cold.
"What on earth-" he yelled, cutting himself off quickly when he realised who he was seeing. "...Uchi?" He blinked, thoroughly confused. "What are you doing?"
Hiroki felt tears form in his eyes again and he bit his lip a little. "Can I talk to you...?" he asked, not knowing what else he could say. He didn't mind talking like this (though he didn't prefer it, but if it had to happen...), outside or come in to Koyama - anything was nice. As long as he got to talk to someone. Because really, after the funeral earlier this day (well yesterday), working too much lately and seeing Ryo kiss someone else..? He just couldn't deal with it... not alone. And he knew it was selfish to try to talk it off to someone else but Uchi just wasn't that strong to keep all things to himself!
Now this was a surprise. Koyama blinked a little, stunned into silence for a moment. When had he last seen Uchi looking upset? The guy was like, always happy. But then Koyama was used to having both Uchi and Ryo around at the same time.
"Sure." he said finally. "You wanna come in?" Because after all, it wouldn't be very nice to make the other one yell at him what was wrong when there was no reason he couldn't come inside.
Hiroki nodded and looked down as he felt tears running down now already. Mostly because of Ryo, but he was also so exhausted and tired and really just wanted to sleep - and Kei was always so nice. Even though they didn't hand out much he was still nice and was obviously offering help and... just very, very nice. And this got to him too when he was tired and on the edge of tears like this.
"Okay..." Koyama was becoming more nervous already. How could he possibly be any help with any problems Uchi would have? Why him and not Ryo? "I'm gonna get dressed, and... I'll be down in a minute."
True to his word, some two minutes later Kei appeared at the front door, immediately moving out of the way to allow his friend to get inside. Once the door was shut again (he didn't have to be quiet, neither of his parents were home anyway - as usual) he lead the way to his bedroom, flicked on the light and immediately sat on his bed. "Sit down..." he muttered automatically, it being the obvious polite thing to do. He didn't make any indication as to where, but there was a chair in the corner and if Uchi didn't want that then Kei didn't mind the other one sitting on his bed either.
"So... What's up?"
Hiroki sat down on the bed, staying silent for a few seconds. Now Kei was there, offering himself to listen and now he had a hard time starting. What should he say? Had Ryo told about that they were dating? ... Or whatever they were? And if not-
What did it matter?
"I... I was working today..." he started, mumbling it more like a reminder to himself than to tell Koyama. "And I was going to deliver this briefcase... but then I... I walked pass this house which belonged to Nishikido it said you know..." Okay so he got a bit more aware of that there actually was someone listening to him. "And... and I got curious because people were talking in the garden and I walked there, not to say anything just look! And then... then..." Uchi closed his eyes, which made more tears fall which caused him to fail an attempt to blink them away. "Ryochan was there ne... and he... he... and some girl..."
"Oh..." Kei exhaled more than said. As far as he knew Ryo and Uchi were just the best friends they'd always been - but he obviously knew about Hiroki's long-lasting and terribly obvious crush on their almighty leader, so he basically just assumed it was that. "What, was he just... With her? Or were they actually doing something?" He didn't want to make his friend cry more, he really didn't, but he had no idea how to make the other one -stop- crying either.
"Kissing..." Hiroki did his best to dry away the tears as he decided to tell Kei, yupp. He decided that on his own! Totally on his own, that no matter if Ryo wanted everyone to know or not, Kei would know within seconds!
"I don't- I don't understand why..." The younger one (with a few days), looked up at Kei with sad (well duh, obviously) eyes. "We... today ne... today we've been... together for 19 days..." Well, did today count? Because Ryo was breaking up with him right...? And if not, how was he supposed to deal with it? He couldn't look Ryo in the eyes after this, he really couldn't.
"Nineteen days?" Koyama was slightly surprised at that. Ryo had always been... Well, he'd always been the straightest guy Kei had ever met. Of course, he'd always thought that if Ryo was going to date any guy it'd be Hiroki, but... Wow. Though he couldn't say that! No way, no way, it was just too mean.
"Are you sure they were kissing? Like, absolutely sure?" Kei knew that Ryo was very capable of hurting people; the X-group leader had always seemed to find it an easy thing to do. But to do something like that to his best friend, apparently his boyfriend? Kei hoped that not even Ryo would do that. Though Hiroki knew, from now on obviously, that Ryo was very much capable of that and nodded to answer Kei's question.
"She... she was hugging him... and they... they were really, really... close..." Again Uchi lowered his head, sobbing quietly before he spoke again and then it was just mumbling. "Ne Kei..." Slowly he looked up at the other one, hoping for him to have answers to everything right now. He often did actually! Though Shige was probably one of the smartest in the X-group, Kei did have his bright moments too! ... Okay, so Kei and Shige was probably the smartest ones... Or something. Hiroki didn't even know anymore, not after that he'd had to be away from school for so long. "... why?"
"I... I don't know why..." The just slightly older one tried very hard not to tear up himself. This was really quite upsetting, after all, and he was usually the type just to cry if he felt like it... That, however, was really not going to help. "But... Don't get upset... If he'd do that to you then he's not worth crying over..."
Of all the people to have to endure such a thing, Hiroki was in Kei's opinion the one who deserved it the absolute least. They'd never been the closest two people in the world, but Kei knew that Hiroki was a good person who'd never do anything to warrant such treatment...
Ryo had always been the kind of guy others were attracted to, he knew so and very much liked it. He'd dated two girls at once before. But then again the leader had never, ever allowed anyone to say or do anything even slightly hurtful to Uchi so... Why would he do something like this?
It made both perfect sense and absolutely none, and that was just so confusing that Kei wanted to go find Ryo and demand the answer himself.
As Hiroki had never, ever feared physical contact with anyone - Kei wasn't really surprised as the younger one leaned against his shoulder. Tears constantly running down his cheeks and he even allowed himself to sob - not trying to hide it anymore. He was just... pretty damn sad. Pretty damn sad and totally not ashamed of it. He had every right to be sad! And he was tired. This was also something he had the right to be... and he was scared, but that was work-related so he didn't want to think about it. Not that he wanted to think about Ryo kissing stupid girl either, but he did it anyway. Anyway, back to the sad part? He had had to attend to his father's funeral, comfort his mom AND find out that his boyfriend obviously had a girlfriend... of course he was sad. He...
Hiroki sobbed and hold on to Keiichiro's shirt as a few moments of silence had passed. "Ne Kei..." he then mumbled. "My father's funeral was today." Did Kei even know? Probably not. The time they had spent together the last few weeks, the X-group that is, had not been wasted by talking about Uchi's sad life. Because really, his life was sad - what joy was there?
Kei quickly put his arm around Hiroki’s shoulders in what he hoped was a comforting way. God he felt really damn sorry for his friend... Nobody should have to go through the sort of thing Ryo had apparently done, especially not on the same day as something as upsetting as the funeral of a family member! Really, did life just dislike Uchi Hiroki or something? Certainly seemed that way.
"I'm sorry..." Koyama muttered as though it were his fault. In all honesty he just didn’t know what else to say. People usually didn’t come to him for the whole comforting thing, so he’d never really worked out how to do it.
What was all these random thoughts suddenly popping up in his head like this, Hiroki wondered. Probably because hew as upset, it would make sense. "I want to go to school..." he mumbled. Knowing very well it was impossible, but think about it. That way his father would have been more proud of him and that way he'd also see Ryo more often and maybe even get to know why he wasn't enough. Because that was obviously the reason, right? For Ryo to get a girlfriend... that Hiroki wasn't enough.
"We want you to come back, it's been such a long time..." Kei left it there for the moment, not wanting to point out that it really wasn't very likely the school's senior staff would allow such a thing. "...Do you think they'd let you?" Well, if Hiroki wanted it so badly then it was worth a try, right? It did seem pretty futile though.
"No..." Not as long as they had that principal there... He'd never forget that Hiroki brought his daughter down with him when they got caught being drunk and shoplifting. Add to that the girl, Hiromi, had accused him for sexual harassment that somehow turned into rape that somehow turned Hiroki in to a pervert... and none of it was true. Though of course people believed a girl's tears more than his own yelling. Not even Ryo's attempt to cover for him had helped. It had only given him a warning but for a brief moment the matter of having him suspended too had been talked about. "They won't..."
"I guess not..." Kei did remember what'd happened, all too clearly. It hadn't been the most fun thing to watch his friends go through. "But you'll always be our friend, you know, and whether you're there or not you're still in X with us..." Because apparently to Koyama Keiichiro, being in X was a terribly good thing. "And... And... Ryo's a real ass sometimes but I'm sure he's really sorry about what he did..." Though perhaps that was a little too much to hope for.
"Ne Kei..." Hiroki sobbed and blinked a few times. He was getting tired, crying made him way too tired sometimes. Those words that Keiichiro now had said about X meant more than the world to him... seriously. Because just like him, Hiroki thought of X as a good thing - it was a good thing! Probably the best thing that ever happened to him. "Can... can I stay here... for one night..?"
"Sure, of course you can." Nobody with any decency could turn away someone like this, could they? Well, Kei certainly couldn't. "You want my bed?" So he'd sleep downstairs. Sleeping on the couch basically meant hours of staring at the ceiling, twitching violently at any sound and being way too frightened to move until the sun rose. Because his living room was just goddamn scary in the dark... Not that anyone else knew he thought that. Nooo way. How horribly embarrassing. "I'll sleep downstairs, I don't mind."
The sun had yet to rise, as the clock wasn't more than 4.30 in the morning, but it was just a matter of time before it did. The house was silent, except for the from the computer in the other room making noise. It was on, only because he had been up a bit early to send an email to his mother - apologizing for not sending an email this weekend but that he'd been busy. Which wasn't all lying - he had been busy! Sure sending an email wouldn't have taken too long but that was beside the point.
"Tooomo-hi-sa-chan~♥" Kazuya sing-songed as he crawled up in the bed to lie down next to Tomohisa who was still sleeping. Not that one could blame him though, seeing how early it was still. But they had to get up and ready if they wanted to spend any time together before school started. After all, Ryo would get there (well he'd get to Yamashita's) at around 7.15 and by then Tomohisa needed to be awake and ready. And Kazuya had to have his dose of Tomohisa to make it through the day before that. Which meant, in other words, that he really had to get up by now. "Okinasai~"
Tomohisa himself then demonstrated just how happy he was to be asleep by doing the one thing he'd never do otherwise - that is, turning completely away from the other one. "Go 'way, 'm sleepin'." he mumbled, not completely coherent yet. Well of course he wasn't! It was 4.30 in the morning! ...Not that he knew that.
"Still dark." Well, as far as he could see from behind his eyelids. Especially while he wasn't looking. But the light hadn't bothered him yet, so he could only assume it wasn't there. See, Yamashita Tomohisa was a smart kid even while sleeping! "Later..." And with that he apparently gave up on talking, yawned loudly and continued to ignore the rest of the world.
Not at all much surprised, but rather used to this by now, Kazuya smiled and then instead put an arm on Tomohisa's other side and rested his chin against the other one's arm ... it could probably be rather uncomfortable. "Moou... get up ne..." he said in a playful tone, while looking down at Tomohisa's sleeping face. Well, so much he could see of it... Sure, he did love the sight and all that - but that was exactly why he'd been sitting on the floor for half an hour, just watching him before he decided he had to wake him up! After all, Tomohisa's smiling face was just as beautiful as his sleeping... well, maybe... or... hm... this was a hard question. But he could think about that now, first he had to get the older one to get up! "It's morning..."
Despite the sudden random pain in his arm, Tomohisa was as stubborn as ever. "No 's not." he mumbled. Though really he knew he'd have to get up in a minute - the world was apparently conspiring to wake him, and if he ignored it then it would just conspire harder. He didn't want that, not really. "Shh..."
Kazuya turned his head to the side so that the pain would stop and let his cheek rest against the other one's arm instead. "Noo..." he whispered back to Tomohisa as he slowly let his arm find it's way down to the 'sleeping' one's waist. "You should really get up now..." As Tomohisa again made some noise, showing off just how much he wanted to sleep, Kazuya figured this obviously wasn't going to work unless he really woke him up... and what was a great way of doing that? - Exactly, tickle him.
The older one lasted a grand total of a second and a half after that, despite trying very hard not to move. Tickling! How evil!
"Hey!" Tomohisa shrieked - yes, shrieked, in a pitch much higher than one would've thought possible given his speaking voice. And of course suddenly he was wide awake, sitting up and grabbing Kazuya's wrists as soon as he was able to locate them. "That's not fair." He glared sleepily at the other, not actually annoyed or anything but... That really wasn't fair! How on earth was anyone supposed to sleep with that sort of thing going on?!
Kazuya sat still and just looked at the newly awake Tomohisa, trying his best not to grin widely and thus instead pouted at him. "Datte... sabishii dechu~" He said, being way too childish for his own good. Though he managed not to laugh too much about it. But he had a point though you know? He did have a point! With the clock soon being 4.40 they just had about two and a half hour, right? And that was almost too little! Because... Kazuya was addicted like that - obviously.
"That's still no reason to..." Tomohisa cut himself off there and sighed a little, letting go of the other one's wrists. He rubbed his eyes, still really quite tired and wanting very much to go back to sleep... "What time is it..?" he asked, wondering whether it was as early as it felt. Because really, he only felt as though he'd had an hour or two of sleep. Enjoyable, satisfying sleep but still not enough of it. ...Though apparently enough for his (usually quite nice) hair to be all over the place. Not that he'd noticed that.
Kazuya cast an eye at the digital watch standing on the bedside table and then smiled at Tomohisa. "Don't kill me okay?" he asked, but didn't wait for a reply before he announced the time exactly; 4.38. As he waited for a reaction he moved a bit closer to the (somewhat annoyed?) boy next to him and rested his head against his shoulder. "Today's Monday ne... a whole day of school..." School meant no touching, no talking and more or less no looking. Which would be totally weird since they had spent more than half of this weekend together. "Boring, boring school ne~" Then he smiled and lifted his head and looked at Tomohisa. "But we have mail ne!"
Deciding to ignore the issue of the ridiculous hour at which he'd been woken, Tomohisa managed to smile at Kazuya. "I guess that's better than nothing." His voice didn't hold a lot of enthusiasm - but that was normal, he wouldn't be properly awake for a few minutes yet. "...Wait, don't tell me that's why you got me up now?" After all, it would be just like Kazuya to do something like that. He was just weird sometimes. But that didn't matter at all when the weirdness was this damn loveable. ...Because it totally was, you know. Or at least it was to Tomohisa, and it wasn't like he was asking anyone else to like it. In fact he'd be slightly annoyed if they did. Anyway, back to reality! Yupp, the reality where Kazuya seemed to be a bit nervous and look down at the sheets. "Jaa... well..." He smiled a little as he tried to come up with a good excuse. "Maybe...?" Well, he knew that Tomohisa definitely knew that was the reason. Though he wouldn't admit to it right away! Because you know, some people do get up at this crazy early hour! Only because Tomohisa wasn't like that... it wasn't that this was unnormal you know. Maybe one should phrase that 'not normal'...
"You're weird." the taller one laughed a bit at that. "But! If I'd been awake first which never ever, ever happens but if it did! I totally would've woken you." Tomohisa nodded, the run-on sentences showing that he was actually becoming himself again. How nice? Only really if you like stupid ramble. Most people would've left him asleep. "So I guess I can't really complain! Even though I am tired y'know... But anyway now we have time! I'm not sure what we're gonna do with it but it's there and otherwise I would've slept right through it which I'd be all regretting later. Like 'maa, why do I have to sleep' sort of thing, you know? I like sleeping and there's the whole energy thing but otherwise it's a real waste of time..."
Wow, what on earth set him off? Suddenly with the unending babble! Really, it was quite surprising seeing as he'd been the immovable object just minutes ago.
"Darou!" Kazuya more or less jumped out of bed (still just wearing boxers and a t-shirt by the way) and then reached out his hand to Tomohisa. "Let's have breakfast ne~ It's all ready and stuff downstairs!" Okay so he wasn't the best cook ever, but he did know how to do breakfast! Especially since he'd more or less studied how Tomohisa had done Sunday morning. Aa~ how nice it was! To think of that they even spent weekend morning's together! Well, not all of the time of course but it had happened twice now and those mornings were definitely the best ever.
The taller one, clad only in his underwear but not altogether too bothered about it, took Kazuya's hand to help himself up. "You made food? By yourself?" Tomohisa grinned. "Are you sure I'll survive eating it?" Not that it was so bad, really, he just... Liked being better at something? Yeah, something like that. Cooking was his thing and he was so totally entitled to make fun of anyone else doing it because... It was his thing! And he didn't have anything else! Not that he really enjoyed making fun of people - but, yeah, anyway.
"Moou!" Kazuya pouted and gave Tomohisa a push on the chest, though obviously not strong enough to have him fall down in the bed again, unfortunately. "I guess you'll just have to try it nee~♥" He glared at the taller one (well he tried to look angry and offended but didn't quite succeed much) before squeezing Tomohisa's hand and leave the room.
"Ah, but how do I know you're not trying to poison me?" Tomohisa laughed as he followed along - well, really it was more of a good-natured sort of giggle. "Maybe you secretly hate me... And you've been plotting my untimely demise for some time!" He gasped aloud, jokingly shocked, and brought his free hand up to his mouth. "That's what this is, isn't it? You want me dead so badly you spent all this time building up to it so that I'd trust you, and now you're making your final move to end my unfortunate life!" What on earth was he talking about? Seriously, once he'd gotten up Tomohisa was basically insane. He blamed the time. Yes, it was definitely the fact that it wasn't even 5am yet that made him this weird.
"Ah sou ka..." Kazuya sighed as they walked downstairs. Had Tomohisa said that two weeks ago, Kazuya'd probably gotten rather hurt and taken it all way too serious. But ever since that day on the roof, that day when they had realized they needed no words to talk to each other, that as long as they would be together at some point everything would be just fine. And this way everyone got to be happy, right? After all that was all that mattered... in the long run. Everyone got to be happy and he didn't, honestly, feel guilty towards anyone. Not even Jin. But that's not a pleasant subject so moving on~
"Sou desu ne..." Kazuya nodded. "You figured it out hu? That's too bad... I'll have you eat it anyway though!"
"See, now if this was going to be a proper story I'd be just about to take the first mouthful and then you, right, you'd stop me and burst into tears and stuff. And then when I ask what's wrong you tell me you're in love with me and then there's violin music, right, and then!" Tomohisa illustrated his point, making hand motions that basically made no sense to anyone but himself. He really seemed to be getting into this. "And then! Then kissing happens and we ride off into the sunset on a random horse that came out of nowhere, and the words 'the end' come up in big fancy writing and rooooll credits!"
With that, he promptly burst out laughing. It was just... Way too funny to him, really.
Kazuya however, didn't laugh (not because it wasn't funny, because it was but...) about it but nodded. "You know, my grandparents live in Sendai, ne... and they have horses..." He nodded and looked up at Tomohisa. "We could borrow one of theirs! I bet they have a white one..."
Slowly Tomohisa managed to calm his hysterics, though still had a smile on his face as he gave the smaller one a light shove. "You know it's funny, you're just not laughing so I'll feel stupid and shut up. Well I'm not shutting up!" More laughter went on then, before sudden abrupt quietness. "...I don't know what you did to me, but I'm really hyper right now." he announced, as though it were at all important.
At that Kazuya laughed as they walked in to the kitchen and there was breakfast. On the table there was lovely breakfast that looked really eatable too!
"See?" He proudly did a gesture towards the table and looked up at his boyfriend. "It doesn't look so bad does it?"
"Well it looks okay..." Tomohisa nodded, looking slightly more impressed by that than he should've been. He wasn't sure what he'd been expecting, but... Yeah. Expectation never matches up to the real thing, unless you're prophetic. Which he most certainly wasn't. "...But looks can be deceiving!" That probably wasn't true in this case, but he was having fun anyway! Definitely the most important thing right now! Because being woken up at such a stupid time of the morning meant he was totally entitled to have fun with random things that would just be normal otherwise.
Kazuya wanted to hug him and kiss him and- ... so lots of other things, but kept himself from doing any of those as he walked up to the table with Tomohisa and pulled out the chair to have him sit down. Because that's what gentlemen does... and obviously that was exactly what kind of man he was. Or something like that.
"It's not that baad~" He smiled and then went around the table to sit down in front of the other one. "I promise! The eggs are great!" He fell silent, since when did he become so bold when it came to cooking? He barely knew how to make good rice! Well, obviously he knew how to make rice with the machine and all but you get the point! "I-I mean... they- they're not awful..."
"You've gotta have confidence, y'know. If you say 'I cook really badly' or 'I can't do this' then you'll end up right!" Tomohisa nodded sagely. Yes, being older meant that he was allowed to act knowledgeable sometimes - especially about this, of all things. "Aaanyway, can't be that bad!" He smiled, forever optimistic, and mumbled an 'itadakimasu' before picking up his chopsticks and taking a slightly hesitant first bite. Chewing and swallowing happened... And then more smiling. "Oishii~" he chirped. Not that he'd really have noticed if it wasn't any good. He was always so ridiculously hungry in the morning that he'd eat anything - had quite literally ingested rubber before now. But that was only because his sleep-fogged mind had confused an eraser for something edible, which hadn't been pleasant... Anyway, now he decided to further satisfy himself by turning his attention back to the food in front of him and basically inhaling it. Only not literally. But it may as well have been literally by the sheer speed at which he managed to shove things in his mouth - and just how much he managed to get in there at once was pretty damn impressive too. Not that he knew anything about that. But Jesus, at this rate he'd break the light barrier and finish before he'd started! ...Mm, science.
Kazuya looked with big eyes at his boyfriend, waiting for a reaction. Himself he was too nervous to actually eat. You know, it was more or less like cooking for a chef! Imagine the feeling... or like, sing in front of Gackt or someone? IMAGINE! Or even worse, filming a movie and showing it to Steven Speil... Spiel.. Spei..l...-birg? Whatever his name was- that American guy anyway! That's how nervous Kazuya was right now. Then that 'oishii' came out and he felt as if a rock was lifted from his shoulders.
"Really?" he asked, but didn't get an answer before he saw how Tomohisa had started eating some more of it... that meant it was really good, right? With a smile, Kazuya looked up at the clock - it was just 4.55, they still had lots of time to spend together and if he could choose how - it would be by kissing. Because God knew he liked kissing. It wasn't just the whole thing about kissing-kissing you know? It was... nice. It made two become one and he felt closer to Tomohisa. He felt like he belonged with him, which he totally did too by the way. It was just something about... the taste of Tomohisa that got to him. Made him feel like a totally new person, like a complete different person yet stay as himself... and did he love that feeling.
Slowly Kazuya started to eat some of the food as well, slowly though - not even close to as fast as Tomohisa. They were quite different in behaviour actually... Probably Kazuya was more of a 'princess' than he'd like to admit.
Of course, Tomohisa was finished within minutes. Now most people would get indigestion from eating so fast - but apparently he was immune to that. Or something. Point is, he was perfectly able to eat at twice the speed of the average human being and be completely unaffected. Quite the talent, that.
Now he needed an activity that would occupy him without being annoying. Muttering a quick ‘gochisosan’, the older one rested his elbows on the table and settled in for an intense round of Kazuya-watching. Tomohisa had always found that an entertaining activity before, why should now be any different? …Exactly. So there he was, just sort of staring with a goofy lopsided smile, not bothered that he probably looked sort of weird.
Ah, but the entertainment value really was immense. Despite Ryo only saying it to be an ass, which by the way he was very good at, Kazuya really was quite princessly. Not that ‘princessly’ is even a word. Unless it is? Anyway, not important. So Kazuya really was the princess… That made Akanishi the stereotypical self-absorbed Prince Charming (which he probably wasn’t, but there you go), and Tomohisa himself was the stable boy who just happened to fall in love with the princess.
What was it with him and thinking in fairytales today? Really, it didn’t make sense. Their lives were interesting, to say the least, but not really enough to qualify as fairytale material. Unless they were all living in a fairytale and weren’t aware of it… But that was just too weird to think about.
“I guess you really are a princess,” the older one laughed.
Kazuya immediately looked up at him, lowering his chopsticks. He wasn't uncomfortable with being watched by Tomohisa... because it had obviously happened before. But that comment? What did that come from?
"Pardon?" he asked, oh what a nice thing to say instead of a simple 'eh'. But it didn't feel quite right. Not when he was in the mood to behave... and be nice and all that. "What makes you say that?"
"Just..." Tomohisa shook his head a little, laughing this time at himself. "I don't know, you just act like one. ...Not that that's a bad thing!" he added quickly, not wanting to be taken the wrong way. "I don't mean it like Ryo does or anything, he's stupid. I mean... I don't know, you're just very princessly." He nodded, almost as though he actually made sense. Which he basically didn't. Ever.
Kazuya laughed at that with raised eyebrows. He didn't get that at all. Sure, he knew Ryo said it only because Ryo would never be able to be as elegant as Kazuya but that was totally different! ... Okay, so maybe that wasn't the reason but it made one a bit more confident to think of it that way!
"Ah well then~" He said, grinning at Tomohisa. "Ohime-sama desu." Five seconds of silence passed before he burst out laughing again, clapping his hands... not wanting to laugh because he really was hungry you know.
"Nonono!" Tomohisa protested through his laughter. "You're more of a Himechan if you ask me~" Not that anyone had, but oh well. "And of course I'm right so from now on you can be Himechan. So there." He grinned widely, nodding to emphasise his point. "Princess of the world! Maybe I should be bowing at your feet, huh?" What an odd thought, bowing at someone's feet.
"Lowering your head a little is enough ne~" Because then they could kiss! Oh, I swear he's addicted to kissing. Himechan... wasn't that just really cute? Maybe he was the only one thinking so though, but he loved having a nickname like that! Only Tomohisa knew about and it was totally... It made him totally hyper!
"Well then~" He nodded. "Himechan just for you then."
Just for him, huh? The idea of having something just between them like that, even if it was something as small as a stupid nickname made up on the spot... It was just way too good. Waaay too good. Suddenly Tomohisa couldn't stop smiling, as though it had somehow become a physical impossibility. "Okay then!" he chirped, with just slightly more cheeriness than was perhaps necessary. But screw necessity, he was cheerful so he'd act it! "My Himechan and nobody else's." he nodded resolutely. Maybe he'd be forced to share Kazuya, but Himechan? His and his alone! So there!
"Definitely not! Belonging only to Tomokun~" Kazuya smiled back at him before he took up the sports that was eating again. This was great! It was barely 5 in the morning and he was already awake like it was 10 on a Sunday! Or something like that. He was way too hyper for his own good anyway, that was the point.
3-E's homeroom was a normal enough classroom, really. Okay, so it was the setting for many a fistfight, had heard more insults than most film critics, and had a great big line right down the middle. But apart from that it was pretty much normal, even almost looked that way this morning.
Of course, it always looked okay when there was nobody in it, and a very alone Nishikido Ryo managing to blend quite nicely into the scenery didn't do much to take that look away. Obviously the moment a member of Y-group set foot through the door all that would change, all of the X-group leader's hostility would come rushing back to him... But for now all he did was sit and stare at his cell phone.
It kept telling him his message inbox was empty. But that didn't make sense - Hiroki hadn't picked up the phone this morning, and he always sent a message if he wasn't going to be able to. Ryo dialled the familiar number quickly, bringing the tiny wonder of technology up to his ear for the fifth time that morning. It rang, and rang, and rang, and then passed him onto the answering machine - at which point he promptly hung up. Again.
It was weird to be cut off from his best friend (his boyfriend now, he reminded himself) like this, especially since he didn't have any money to use for text messages. The feeling was similar to being locked in a glass box, and Ryo didn't like it. He was, dare he think it, sort of worried.
The door opened and within a moment X-group's smart-talking, warmongering leader was right back (to replace Ryo and his actual human feelings - highly unnecessary). He didn't look up, but was a little surprised when he heard nothing but footsteps taking someone to the back of the room. On his side. Surely Koyama (for it could be nobody else) hadn't just not bothered to greet him at all? Ryo did look up then, confusion turning to irritation when he realised that yes, it really was Koyama Keiichiro.
"Good morning to you too," the leader muttered sarcastically.
"Whatever." Keiichiro mumbled offhandedly, looking out of a nearby window in what looked to be a deliberate show of how little he cared. Now, a lack of greeting Ryo could get over, but insolence like that? Simply not acceptable.
"The fuck's wrong with you?" he demanded, tensing visibly and very much ready to break Kei's face if so needed. Really, fighting would at least take his mind off the lack of correspondence with Hiroki for a bit - and there were no members of Y-group around, so he didn't need to be worried about embarrassing X in its entirety.
"Nothing." Another one-word answer, and still Kei stared out of the window. Ryo was really becoming frustrated now. Since when did Koyama have any semblance of nerve at all?
"Listen," Ryo stood, walking across the room to grab the front of Keiichiro's shirt and force him to look. "I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you, but you'd better not show us up when Y get here. Because I am so not in the mood for that today."
"Why's that?" Kei asked, staring innocently into the eyes of his great and almighty leader. Ryo exhaled aloud and said nothing, even when the other one had the balls to smile sarcastically at him. In this sort of situation! God, the guy was just looking for a punch in the nose or something. "What's her name?"
Ryo was obviously very confused by that question. "What's who's name?" he asked, irritation still evident in his voice.
"Your girlfriend."
"I'll kill you." Jin shook his head as he walked next to Koki, they never walked together to school unless something awesome happened and yesterday they had totally won the football game and thus went out to celebrate. Because of this they had ended up drunk and once they had made it home to Koki's apartment they had both collapsed on the floor in the living room.
"What? Think he'll be upset with you?" Koki grinned as he threatened to tell Kazuya about Jin's weird acting that had been going on yesterday. Acting that included making out with random girls on the way back to Koki. "He'll get over it."
"You don't tell him a single word, get it?" The taller one of the two turned and grabbed Koki by his t-shirt (he never wore the shirt that belonged to the uniform like he was supposed to). "If you do, I'll kill you. Get it?"
Koki, not at all scared (okay so he was but he'd never admit it to anyone) just nodded with a relaxed smile. "Cool, chill man." The shorter (and most relaxed guy ever) one shrugged and then went to sit down on the stair outside of the school building. "I promised to wait for Nakamaru here, you could go in if you want."
Jin pulled a face. He knew Kazuya might be absent today because of that visit to his grandmother's, but hopefully he'd be there... though he wouldn't really be inside yet would he? It wasn't all that late you know. Himself he was only early because Koki had forced him to get up... sure the clock had been 6.45, but c'mon! He didn't have to get up until 7! He could have got to sleep for 15 more minutes... 15 minutes of lovely sleep. And Koki forced him to be without it.
"You still owe me 15 minutes of sleep you know."
Nakamaru Yuichi strolled casually toward where he was to meet his friend, looking terribly odd as he did. After all, it's not every day you see a wisecracker like him apparently considering himself repeatedly in a hand mirror. It wasn't as though he was looking at his hair (effortlessly cool, as usual) or his uniform (similarly cool, though less tidy) or anything... No, by the way he repeatedly changed the angle of both his head and his mirror, it was apparent he was looking at something in that area. Odd, really - sure, he'd never been the type to be popular with the fairer sex, but he'd never cared before.
He muttered a quick 'ohayo' directed at both Koki and Jin as he approached them, not taking his eyes off his reflection. For several moments there was silence, before the self-appointed funny one of Y-group asked the eternal question:
"Do you guys think I have a big nose?"
Jin burst out laughing at the question and clapped his hands. While Koki just quirked a brow and soon joined the Y-leader, laughing. It was surely one of the most random questions asked ever! Only weird would probably be if someone asked if their ears were pretty or something...
Koki stopped laughing - that was something Yuichi would definitely be able to pull off. So he laughed a little at that before clearing his throat and look up at Nakamaru.
"It's medium-ish, why?"
"No reason..." Yuichi muttered offhandedly, looking up and down repeatedly as he compared his nose to theirs.
That was a total lie, by the way. The previous morning he'd been waiting in line in some random store, and had been thoroughly embarrassed by some little girl yelling at the top of her tiny lungs something to the effect of 'mama, look at that boy's huuuuuge nose!'.
Of course, after that he'd tipped his head down to hide both his mortified look and his apparently huge nose from outsider inspection. People had laughed. He'd had the urge to kill them all. So violent! Fortunately more in theory than in practice.
"How much is surgery for that kind of thing these days?" he asked, as though it were common knowledge. Indeed, as though he'd be able to afford it anyway. Not that he was really considering getting surgery... Well okay so he'd thought about it. But that was all!
"Heh?!" Both Jin and Koki let out and quickly exchanged looks with one another and then stared at their friend in front of them.
"You serious?!" Koki, who obviously was closer to Nakamaru than Jin, walked up to him. "Why? What makes you ask that?" Sure, it was true that Yucchi did have a nose that wasn't as small as every one else's, but it wasn't really that bad! It was really good, to be honest! It added to his character and made him cool! Because he totally was cool you know.
Yuichi laughed, returning his hand mirror to his pocket. "Yeah, I'm gonna go waste all my money on surgery so that something I don't see much anyway can be a bit more invisible." He shook his head like he hadn't been the one to propose such a ridiculous idea, looking much more cheerful as he did.
"So!" he clapped his hands together to punctuate the word, evidently ready to change the subject. "Anything interesting happening today?"
"Jin was cheating on Kame last night!" Koki informed, knowing it would piss Jin off, but also that it didn't matter much, because Kazuya would stay by Jin's side anyway. "With some blonde!"
"She wasn't blonde!" Jin talked back and sighed. "It was just stripes. And I didn't do much-"
"She sort of looked like Pamela Anderson!"
Of course, Yuichi couldn't help but laugh again. "Lucky!" he exclaimed. "How'd you manage that? ...Wait, don't tell me, I'm not sure I want to know." More laughter. "Prettier than Kame, I bet. You take advantage of that kid." His tone held no conviction - it wasn't exactly a surprise, after all, and he was only joking. Even though it was true. But he was still joking. "Must be nice to have your very own personal servant, eh?"
Ignoring the insult against Kazuya (as it was from an Y-member it wasn't that big of a deal), Akanishi took a step forward, trying to make himself look bigger than Nakamaru - which he was without trying but still.
"What do you mean how 'd manage that? I'm hot!"
Suddenly Nakamaru clasped his hands together and put on an odd expression much like a girl about to burst into tears. "Oh Akanishi-sama, you taunt me so! Doomed as I am to love you from afar, watching you lavish your attention on everyone else - oh the internal agony!" He swooned dramatically, managing to keep up his act for a further five seconds before bursting into laughter. "...Or not! I'll find you a needle, okay? Your head's so swollen, can't be comfortable." See, now he sort of sounded like that fucker Nishikido. But the difference was that he was joking, didn't actually mean anything by it and just generally wasn't that stupid. So there.
Koki glanced up at Jin, who could easily be mistaken for a bull who just saw red, and because of this the (fake) gangster hurried to stand next to Y's own comedian. "You pissed him off..." he whispered and was ready to run just about any minute. Because no matter how old they were supposed to be, how cool they were supposed to be... Jokes like these from inside of Y could put Jin totally off and thus it wasn't unusual that they often ended up playing tag in the parks after school.
But obviously that was what so happening now too... Soon anyway.
Yuichi blinked. Once more. And then again. Goddamn it was way too easy to piss this guy off! Someone needed to force-feed him a chill pill, or something. Seriously, it had to be crossing the line into a medical need by now. "C'mon, you know I don't mean it..." he muttered, all of his earlier confidence apparently sleeping. Or dead. ...Nah, sleeping. Either way he was prepared to run away very fast if need be.
Koki carefully pulled Nakamaru's arm and backed up a few steps before setting off, heading for the football field, with Jin soon running after them. All three of them knew that it wasn't really all that serious though, but for now? Jin was totally pissed (or not) for receiving an insult like that and thus he of course had to beat Nakamaru up because of it! Not that he really would, but yay for running and playing around before class!
“My what?”
Ryo let go of Koyama’s shirt, staring in disbelief at the other one. His girlfriend? That could only mean Rina, who’d only been his girlfriend for a few hours - how the hell did Kei even know about that?!
“Your girlfriend.” Keiichiro repeated, still smiling. “Is she nice? Just that a good friend of mine told me you were kissing a girl, you know, and why would you kiss a girl unless she was your girlfriend? Doesn’t make sense.” There were several moments of silence. Kei blinked with fake confusion. “What’s wrong? You have girlfriends all the time. It’s not like you’re already dating someone, right?”
“Shut up.” Ryo snapped. Okay, so someone had seen him making out with Rina. It wasn’t so bad, couldn’t possibly be linked to the sudden lack of contact with Hiroki… “Who told you?”
“Who told me what?”
“You fucking know what. Who told you about me and the kid. Who exactly was it that saw us.” It was more of a demand than a question this time. Koyama was happy to oblige.
“Uchikun did. He didn’t seem very happy for you though…” Understatement of the century - Uchi had been pretty much been heartbroken, and Kei was ready to see Ryo suffer for it. Sadistic much? Not really. It didn’t count as sadistic when the person deserved it this much.
“Fuck!” yelled the leader out loud, grabbing fistfuls of his own hair. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck so Hiroki really did know. He’d seen them, even! How the hell was he going to fix this?!
“What?” Keiichiro asked, still with all that fake innocence. As though he didn’t know about the whole Ryo-and-Uchi thing. Because as of last night he totally did. Either way, Ryo ignored him and began to pace the classroom - still tugging painfully at his hair.
“Oh fuck oh FUCK god I’m such a fucking IDIOT he’s so never gonna believe the truth so what the hell am I gonna tell him?!” demanded the leader, talking to nobody imparticular. Nobody had the answer, he knew that much, he’d have to find it himself. But how? Oh god but this was really not good.
“Why do you have to explain that to him..?” Kei felt he really deserved an award for that. It sounded way too convincing to have come from him. This time Ryo saw fit to answer, having stopped the random assault on his scalp for now.
“Because we’re dating, moron!” he yelled, then seemed to consider his answer. “Or… We were. I don’t know… Goddamn…” Ryo exhaled aloud, looking suddenly very blank. As though the guilt had overloaded his circuits and wiped out all emotion by accident. Really, it looked that way as the leader stumbled clumsily back to his seat and just… Sat there. Quietly. Looking very not like himself. Of course, the imminent arrival of Y lurked in the back of his mind… But for all he cared Akanishi could come in armed with a potato gun and demand that everyone paint their left shoe purple. It didn’t matter.
Of course the door slide opened at that, but the one to enter wasn't Akanishi but Kamenashi. He had totally not caught the rest of Y playing in the football field and thus he assumed they were all here. When they weren't he got a bit surprised, but what got to him more was Ryo's expression. What could ever have happened that made him look so... lost? Was it lost? Maybe. Anyway, he didn't say anything but only looked at the X leader and then Koyama... doing nothing but walking up to his desk - remaining silent. Of course wondering where the others were.
"Um... Ryo? Are you okay?" Kei asked hesitantly, not moving - or indeed acknowledging the presence of a Y-group member. Okay, he'd wanted Ryo to suffer and feel guilty and things because he deserved to but... Now that it was actually happening... Keiichiro felt really horrid for having wanted it at all.
Ryo obviously didn't reply, continued to stare forwards with what now appeared to be a sort of frightened desolation. Like a deer in headlights, except that this deer had apparently already given up. Yep, it really was that bad - after all, he had every reason to believe that Hiroki never wanted to see him again. They'd been friends since forever, had only recently gotten to be anything other than that and now... Ryo had gone and destroyed everything just because he hadn't wanted to talk to his stupid cousins. How could he possibly feel anything but guilt, plus anger at himself?
Exactly. He couldn't.

Teasers for Chapter 15
Hime-chan needs some'thing' to look at ^.~
"Sorry..."
Of course, right now he wasn't getting anything out of this, but that didn't matter - making this good for Hiroki would hopefully be its own reward.
