During Buddy's* last months he was increasingly incontinent. It had been that he had a spot that he favored, on a old vinyl floor that was due to be replaced anyway, so we just finally resigned ourselves to cleaning up after him. The vet did a necropsy on Smudge last week. I was all prepared to feel guilty about whatever I had done to cause her death, but he said that she was well nourished, had no bacterial infections, was not eggbound, had food in her digestive system (which means that she was eating up until shortly before her death), and had no abnormalities that he ( Read more... )

I just caught Buddy peeing in the bird room. Actually, I didn't catch him; he grumbled by the back door (which is his signal that he wants to go out), then he wandered through the living room, past me, into the bird room, and then came back out.
