I'm Back (More or Less)

I'm now totally in the house. Tomorrow, I turn my keys into the Timbercreek people. It was a good place to live--great location, nice people--but the house is, well, home. It still hasn't registered that the worst of the move is over. I guess it'll take awhile.

Last night, enkigrl, duncang, Mickie, and satyric came over to assist me in a Secret Ninja Mission to get rid of the last of my furniture. The idea was for us to dress in black and to stealthily carry the sofa, cat platform, and computer desk to the dumpster. ("Stealth" was the key word--I didn't want the garbage people coming after me.) After convincing them that throwing my old bowling ball off my deck was probably not a good idea (the ground is hilly and the ball had my initials on it), they settled for throwing the sofa cushions and the 8'x 10' rug off, and carrying the other stuff down the stairs. (What is the appeal of throwing things off decks? It's like my little brother, who loved to spit from great heights as a kid.) From my spot at the dumpster, I could hear them banging things, cursing, calling out to each other. Some ninjas! But we got it done. I really do appreciate it, y'all--the beer was only a small token.

We got Internet service/cable TV/phone this afternoon. It's a new phone number, which I'm too tired to remember now. It's nice to be back online and have cable--it's been a strange week. I've felt so out of touch. Probably just as well, though--I had too much to do as it was. And yay! The library is half unpacked, as are my clothes. My parents were here today to help with that and hang pictures. I got my father a laser level for Father's Day; he used it to wonderful effect.

I've gone back through the past few days here, but there were literally hundreds of entries on my friends lists, even when I filtered out the communities and RSS feeds. If I missed something important, it wasn't on purpose. Just let me know and I'll check it out.

I'm still very, very, very tired. More soon.
