Stuff
Well, our housewarming party last weekend was a smashing success. Our house is now official--hooray! Thanks to everyone who attended, and for all the flowers, wine, cakes, and food. It's so wonderful to have so many great friends. :)
The last bit is going in as I write this--our shutters are being installed. The paper blinds did their job well, but I'll be glad to be able to see outside without having to clip the shades up. I've learned a lot from dealing with contractors. Looking back, it would have made a great reality show. Ah, well...
I'm settling into my new routine. Work out most mornings, have lunch, work in the afternoon while doing stuff around the house, then something social most nights. Yeah, it's a little slackerish, but I've worked really, really hard over the past decade, so I think I deserve a bit of a break. Besides, anyone who thinks that housework is easy is just wrong. I have a newfound respect for my mother and her always-spotless house now.
Anyone interested in going to see Joe Dallesandro at the Alamo Drafthouse with me on August 6th? I'm hoping that benjybenjy and fpkillkill will come for the event, but the more the merrier!
