Ok.. flights to Nova Scotia booked for August 7th, car rental booked, a very lovely friend has offered to let us crash at her place, home inspection has been booked for 9;30 Tuesday morning, we are all systems go here. Safe and sound at the Sheraton Crystal City - Washington weather is lovely, fast food and airline travel don't mix, think I'll have a couple of bottles of water and a short nap before I go out hunting the local food scene.

We're not normally people who book package tours. Carnival cruises sounds like a week in a floating hotel; and Club Med just makes my skin crawl. Package tours of Europe sounds too much like seeing nothing I want to see at someone else's pace ( Read more... )

Qantas has a deal on right now "Aussie Air Pass" whereby I can get a return flight from Vancouver to Sydney + 3 domestic Aussie flights for $1199 CA anytime between Nov 17-Nov 29.

Of course they don't actually have any SEATS on said flights.
