We had some errands to run today - so as we hadn't been out of the house in a while - I picked a location for said errand that would allow us to do a bit of driving and sight seeing and still hit the other places we wanted to go ( Read more... )

The kitchen we have here isn't really DREADFUL per se, but it's not great. The cupboards appear to be decently made hand made cabinets from the late 1970's - functional (if you don't include the drawers that don't close all the way properly) but not exactly pretty, standard ol' 70's laminate countertops, vinyl tile floors, and an island that isn't ( Read more... )

There's been a lot less pressure to 'eeeeekkk...get everything done!!' on the weekends, now that I have my weeks off, so we've largely been finally treating weekends as 'time off'. So the first big job to finish now that the puppy is happy in his new doggy yard is to redo our master ensuite - its little 9ft x 5ft, the big problem was the badly installed shower stall which leaked and thus was molding - we couldn't use it - so it's replacement time ( Read more... )
