I picked some flowers in my yard and made a pretty arrangement that now rests on the kitchen table.

You watch the news and you see these images of war, but you're still not there, your house isn't getting hit, your child isn't getting killed. I can't imagine being in a place where there is this destruction going on around you. All these conflicts make me nervous, like it's only a matter of time for World War III. I don't understand it, the need for the most power and control, the hate; I don't think the world needs any of it.

On a completely different subject. I went to New Orleans this past weekend. Ryan had the weekend off. Went to Hammond on Friday to visit Ashley and Dominic. Time was way too short, I didn't like that. We went out to eat at this Thai restaurant called the Thai Pot. The food was yummy but they had some pre-teen guy playing the guitar and singing which I was less than impressed with. Went to New Orleans later that night to Rachael's sister's house. Saturday mprning it poured. Ryan and I bought an umbrella, but it didn't do us much good. We went out to b-fast at this hippie diner called Slim Goodies. I had the best omelette ever with cheddar cheese, spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Then we walked around Magazine St. taking pics and going in shops. After that we headed downtown to the aquarium. They had penguins, sea otters, sharks, sea turtles, sea horses, jellyfish, and tons of other amazing sea-life. Later on we went to these up-scale shops and split a cookie. Rachael had to work during the day, but when she got off we met up with JC and went out to dinner at the Brewhouse downtown. Later on that night we were off to a bar called TJ's and it was their 26th anniversary. I got to see a lot of Spring Hill people so that was a surprise. We ended up staying for an hour cuz I thought I was gunna die. Everyone was packed into this bar like sardines, no joke. It was so hot and with all the smoke, could barely breathe. So we had some drinks, dances, took pics with friends, then left. Sunday it was pancakes cooked by Sarah's boyfriend then Ryan and I had to head home.

The parents are gone for a week and my sister leaves tomorrow for Richmond. This weekend's been really mellow. A few people coming over, swimming, and relaxing. I worked last night. We now have a belly-dancer who will be performing every weekend. She was really impressive, she did three different shows: one of her just dancing, one with her dancing while balancing a tray with a candle on her head, and the last with a sword. The customers loved it. I wanted to take Ryan to this place in Georgia tonight called the Log Cabin as a surprise, but it's closed on Sundays. I only have 3 more marketing classes left! Our project still has a bit of work to go though. I saw Analie the other weekend. Emily, Melissa, and I went to Marianna and stayed at Analie's for the night. Her parents were gone for the weekend so she had some people over, it was a lot of fun. The next day we went to her lakehouse and went jet-skiing. I'm going to miss her this year, she was a great roommate. This weekend she's in Chicago, I'm jealous, I really want to go there sometime. That's pretty much my life as of lately. I'm really enjoying my summer, soon it will be over though.
