I had a little free time today, so I stopped by City People's Garden Store to see if I could find a plant that could survive the intense sun of my door step in a pot. Lovey says that I'm the only person he knows who is wracked with guilt for taking a day off and not doing anything. It's just the way I am. I have to do "something productive" or I'll hear parental voices in my head telling me to stop being lazy.

I took yesterday off of work because, in spite of the three-day weekend, I was still sleepy and headachey (in that allergy-induced sinus pressure eyeball popping sort of way). I'm not exactly sure how it does it, but clutter in the apartment seems to replicate at the speed of Rage infected people. In the last couple of days I've packed out three bags of trash, five loads of recycling, two bags over-stuffed with books to take to Powell's and filled two bags full of things to take to the thrift store, but I still don't ( Read more... )

Somehow a giant fly got into the apartment. It was so big, I could hear it landing on the wall. I don't have any insect poison or sprays around the house. So I killed it with several sprays of This. Yeah, that's right. Death by clean.

It seems odd to say that my release from work stress is to do housework. Because of the amount of stuff Lovey and I have and the tiny space in which we find ourselves housed, the place is constantly cluttered. And thus it is with our rent. Rent has not changed on our little apartment since I started renting it in 1999. Until May 1, 2007. On that date, our rent increases.
