Family Togetherness

We made it to the Sierra foothills without killing each other.  We left Ashland about 5:30pm and got to Todd & Kerry's about 1:30am.

Friday we spent just hanging out. Kerry had to work and Todd had a 7:30 am safety meeting up on the mountain. No rafting. It's still the ski season. He had to go and do a quick safety gig (he's the risk management guy). He and Mike skied for about an hour but the last of the snow sucks so they came home. The rest of the day we just caught each other up on everything. And looked for snakes in the grass. The PG&E lady came buy and told us that they just caught the biggest rattle snake she's ever seen. Yippee. Their hillside is full of yellow and purple flowers.

The weather has been great. Breakfast on the porch, about 70 degrees. Spent all day Saturday in Yosemite. We all piled in the van and drove with both doors open. Very nice way to tour. Super freaking crowed. Last weekend of spring break so it was crazy.  We laid in the meadow by El Captian and had a picnic and watched the climbers with binoc's. I thought my brother Mike was going to cry. He used to be a pretty serious climber before wife & kid. Kate used to climb also but that was Love of Mike and not Love of Rock.

Today is Easter morning. My niece Grace got the best Easter. She woke up, chattering at chipmunk volume, found her baskets and then... and then... looked out in the yard to see about eight rabbits. She went up 3 octaves. This is her first Easter where she's actually seen the Easter bunny.Mine too.

We are off to a Kerry family picnic in Fresno. The Aunt & Uncle throw a huge shin dig. Their yard is apparently big enough that they have loaned 4 soccer fields to the city. Kerry says the egg hunt is crazy. Should be 80 to 85 down in the valley. Need to find the spf 5000.
