Back in the Swing
Back to work. No one cleared my desk for me. How rude! I rolled into town at 12:30 last night. Spent all freaking day in the car. The last hour from Roseburg to Eugene sucked! It was raining pretty hard, I was very tired. Yuck. My cats were happy to see me though.
The bad times have not slowed down at work. A coworker lost her mom on Friday - not unexpected but still very sad. Another coworker went home with a stomach ache on Friday and they almost lost her on Sunday. The doctors have no idea what caused her to go down hill. She's young and had no previous issues but her kidneys and her lungs shut down on her. Sunday they thought she was a goner. Monday she apparently had a miracle happen that has dumbfounded the doctors. She should be moved out of the ICU today.
I have a message on my machine from my best friends husband that says to call him. This is the friend who's birth mother I found recently - only to find that she was gone. I'm thinking maybe her siblings made contact? I won't have a chance to call him until tomorrow. I foolishly didn't bring his cell# to work. I have CERT class right after work and won't get home until late. Argh. I hope it's good news.
