Fly-by weight update

* Slowly gained weight in my twenties til I was fat.

* Rapidly gained weight in my late twenties/early thirties because of a breakdown plus food-as-drug.

* Lost 6 stone (84 pounds)

* Gained 1 stone (14 pounds) over christmas (difficult time of year for me - not celebratory); so I am around 28 pounds over my lowest 30s weight.

* Gained another 1 stone (14 pounds) in the last two months; correlating with me stopping going to weekly slimming club meetings and also with me doing marathon training.

WOAH. Having gained weight is really going to hinder my marathon. It'll make it more difficult. After writing the above I re-joined Slimming World and attended my first weigh-in/meeting for 3 months. I find the meetings really motivating; even when I have had a gain, it really helps me to focus on what my goals are.

I went to a different Slimming World group - the leader of my previous group had lost their enthusiasm and consequently there are not many regulars there. The group I went to in Angel was great - the leader had lots of ideas. I liked her attitude to alcohol, food and holidays - she stresses moderation and health even when on holiday (in contrast to the leader of my previous group).

I know what I need to change: STOP eating when I have finished my evening meal. If I feel like I need a snack later on that's ok, but make sure I eat no more than one side-plate's worth of food. No starting on my evening meal and continuing to eat until bedtime. Also, if I want to keep introducing a binge food back into my flat then I need to do one per month and not one per week.

diet, weight-gain
