Rowan walked down the corridor, carefully placing her feet so she made as little noise as possible. Not that she was being sneaky, just for the sake that that was how one of her breeding was supposed to walk. Quietly. Elephants belonged in the circus, not the home, as Rowan's great-aunt used to say.
She was headed off to the owlery, letter in hand. It was a letter to her Aunt, saying she wouldn't be coming home for the holidays. Glancing down at the letter in her heavy hands, Rowan let out an aggravated sigh and a ran hand through her long blonde hair. Last night it had seemed like a good idea to stay, but she wasn't so sure anymore...

Maddox was in the Owlery, sending off an owl to his sister Maeby. He had to warn her that he would be coming home a little differently this year. This wasn't how the holidays were supposed to start out. Natalie was coming home with him, but his siblings were just going to be obsessed with the fact that he was now a girl.
He let the owl go, and left the Owlery, almost bumping into someone. "Oh, sorry." The someone in question was Rowan Foxkith. Now, Maddox had never really talked to her... at all. But perhaps being a girl made him braver. "Hello there, Rowan," he said pleasantly. "Are you sending a letter home?"

Dom was heading back to the Common Room to study for his Transfigurations exam the next day. Bloody smegging midterms, causing him unneccessary stress. He couldn't wait unti he could just get this whole graduating thing over and done with.
Books tucked under one arm, he made his way down the hallway.
Re: Thursday, December 15, afternoonlucy_sharpeJune 4 2006, 02:58:35 UTC
Wanting to avoid her own common room (the feeling it gave still made the girl uncomfortable), Lucy found herself wandering the halls. Now, normally, she'd be attempting to study for mid-terms, but at the moment? She didn't feel like it. At all. It was her last year! Why work more than necessary.
With a heavy sigh, she made her way down a hall, until she bumped into someone. "Oh! I--sorry," she said, refraining from cursing at whoever it was.
Re: Thursday, December 15, afternoondashing_domJune 4 2006, 03:01:00 UTC
Dom felt something ricochet off of his shoulder and he realized it had been a human being. "S'ok," he said to the person, and then noticed her as Lucy. "Oh, hey there Lucy," he said. "Taking a break from studying?" he asked.
Merlin, studying, was not exactly his ideal topic of conversation, but he supposed it was relevant, after all.
Re: Thursday, December 15, afternoonlucy_sharpeJune 4 2006, 03:18:26 UTC
Brushing herself off, Lucy quickly shook her head. "Oh, no! I'm fine," she said as she did so. "And... yeah. It's driving me absolutely mad. You'd think with hols, the teachers would... I don't know, feel the cheer and spirit? Transfiguration alone is enough to kill me."
She grumbled a little. "Anyway! How're you? We haven't really talked in ages."
Thursday, December 15, Afternoonanora_beeJune 4 2006, 03:06:03 UTC
Anora was leisurely walking towards the Common Room. The longer it took her to get there, the less time she would have to spend studying concepts and properties of things she'd already studied and understood, yet felt guilty for not doing one last night of review.
There was still a lot on her mind. Too much on her mind, for what she was used to having to deal with. She was really starting to resent Herbology more and more as the days wore on. Things would probably be much less complicated if she was in her OWN body.
Re: Thursday, December 15, Late-Afternoonderek_blyJune 4 2006, 04:03:54 UTC
Surprisingly enough, helping Camilla with Defense had managed to take Derek's mind off of things for a bit. It was nice to concentrate on something he was good at and even if his own incantations sounded strange in this voice, the wandwork was familliar. He liked to think she'd made some progress, but one lesson really wasn't going to clear it all up. It was a good start though.
Derek sighed and wandered the halls, still not especially eager to head back to the Common Room. Things had been better since claiming Hannah's bed- far more comfortable than that very public cot- but now hols were so close and instead of looking forward to them Derek found he was kind of disappointed. He wouldn't see her at all now, would he? This week had been a total loss and with Shelby...off... "Ugh." This would be a rotten holiday.
Re: Thursday, December 15, Late-Afternoonanora_beeJune 4 2006, 04:23:36 UTC
Anora spotted a feminine figure up ahead and recognized it as Derek. "Hey Derek," she said, catching up to him. "Where ya headed?" Merlin, this was weird. Talking to anybody as a bloke was weird, but when they were gender-switched too? Just made it all the more unusual.
Re: Thursday, December 15, Late-Afternoonderek_blyJune 4 2006, 04:30:44 UTC
Derek looked up, though he didn't recognize the voice right away.
"Anora," he brightened. "I...have no idea where I'm going," Derek admitted, realizing as Anora got closer that she made a taller boy than he did a girl; that was just frustrating. "Still trying to keep my head down, you know. How's your week gone?"
Very Early Hours of Thursday the 15th of of DecemberdreamingopheliaJune 4 2006, 06:36:55 UTC
She slipped past the gaggling cluster of younger years, each of them yawning and in the process of leaving the tower. Aislin had been sure to get a lot of sleep the night before- it wouldn't do to seem tired or bored of the one subject that she had not yet caught up on. As she ventured further and futher up the stairs, and passed those last few weary stragglers, she tucked her starchart in a much more secure manner underneath her arm.
Finally as she reached the top of the tower, she hoped to Merlin that the Professor was still there. If not she wasn't entirely sure that she should still be here... the equipment was expensive after all, even if she was a prefect. "Professor?" her voice rung out in the crisp night air. It wasn't as overcast as it had been in the past few days- perhaps enough to allow her to complete the activities that she was supposed to.

Sly was busy doing a post lesson inventory of telescopes, making sure that all were in the order that they had been at the beginning of the lesson. On his desk there was a pile of starcharts in mild disarray.
He looked up at the sound of Aislin's voice and beamed at the girl. "Good evening! How wonderful to see you." Sly's voice was friendly and jovial. He was pleased to see that she was following up on her promise of making up her missed lessons. A lot of students would have blown it off, a lot of lesser students.
"Well, you've chosen a good night, seems that some of the haze has lifted, you might get fair visibility." Crossing the tower so that he wasn't calling across the room to the girl, he continued "And how are you fairing, tonight? I hope that the trend of improvement we discussed last time is still the case."

Aislin was genuninely pleased by the sound of welcome in Professor Sly's voice. It was nice not to have to tip-toe for fear of upsetting him. He really was possibly her favourite professor, even if Astronomy wasn't the class that she had a natural talent with. "Thank you, I would have come earlier but I was looking over my Transfiguration notes, and trying to remember if I had included all of the citations that I wanted to." She would worry endlessly until she got her marks back from each of her professors. It was usual, but having been out of comission for a week seemed to have increased that worry.
"Well, you've chosen a good night, seems that some of the haze has lifted, you might get fair visibility."The Slytherin smiled at the comment- yes, it didn't seem too bad. It was forecast to snow tomorrow, and she wondered when it would start. Certainly it wouldn't for more than a few hours, but it didn't stop her from drawing her cloak around her and willing herself not to shiver. She watched him approach, and made sure to

Sly nodded with understanding. It was so nice to see that some students still had their priorities straight. It was especially reassuring in students from such prestigious families as Aislin--too many students were becoming blemishes on their family trees these days. "You must make your family very proud, Aislin

Dari was feeling a bit restless. She'd wanted to go flying but the weather hardly called for that and she was between classes and quite.. bored, to be honest. So she was wandering the halls in search of some form of entertainment. After all, holidays promised to pretty much suck, so she figured she should have fun while she could.
Re: friday december 16; mid-morning; random corridorwilliamfarleyJune 5 2006, 06:25:05 UTC
William was standing in front of a window, looking longingly outside. Snow was bound to come in sooner or later, but it doesn't make him feel any less annoyed that he couldn't be traipsing around in the grounds because of the the weather. He paid no attention to anyone passing by the corridor; he was focused on the grounds, his eyebrows scrunched together which makes him look both in total concentration and half glaring at nothing in particular.
Re: friday december 16; mid-morning; random corridordarianaclawJune 5 2006, 06:36:01 UTC
Dari spotted Will and grinned. There was something to cure her boredom. Normally when a boy showed disinterest, Dari moved on, but in this instance? His lack of reaction to her flirting only made her keep at it, determined to break through that exterior and make him... smile, laugh, anything of the sort.
She came up beside him, following his gaze to the grounds. "Nice weather, isn't it?" she pouted. "I wanted to have a nice fly this morning, but obviously that's out. Ruddy snow." She was complaining, but she was grinning all the same.
Re: friday december 16; mid-morning; random corridorwilliamfarleyJune 5 2006, 06:47:52 UTC
Will's internal monologue (which only consisted of cursing at the weather, really) was interrupted when someone announced their presence. Glancing beside him, he saw Dariana Davison peering at the grounds as well.
"Yes. Flying is always nice." He noticed her grin. "You look happy about it all the same."
