Monday May 8 - Slytherin Table - Breakfast edward_mcmillan June 1 2007, 18:46:22 UTC
Quidditch season was over, but that didn't stop Ed from having his usual early morning flight around the Pitch. He didn't just fly to keep in shape for quidditch, after all. Ed genuinely loved being up in the air and her found it was the best way to clear his head before a day of classes.

A good flight and a quick shower later and he was now seated at breakfast, helping himself to some eggs as he thought about upcoming plans. His six month anniversary with Ashleigh was coming up and he wanted to make it special for her. Especially since he knew she was nervous about NEWTs and they could both use a bit of a break from that.

Elodie was up, but for different reasons. With NEWTs coming up she was studying as much as she possibly could and had even made a schedule to follow so that she wouldn't lose track or get distracted. She had already been studying for an hour or so and had been on her way to get a quick snack from the kitchens, but decided to try her luck at the Great Hall.

As she entered the hall, she looked around the tables and noticed Ed alone at the Slytherin table. She hadn't seen him lately had she? Odd.

"Good morning," she said with a smile as she sat down across from him. "Mind if I join you?"

Tuesday May 9 - Hufflepuff Table - Lunch bryantsawyer June 1 2007, 19:05:09 UTC
Lunchtime was more like breakfast time when you were Bryant Sawyer. He'd slept late, as usual, not even really caring that much that he'd missed two classes by staying in bed so late. Hey, at least he was up in time for lunch.

He pulled a slab of roast beef onto his plate and then added some peas and some mashed potatoes (though he didn't play with them like his lame-o brother seemed to like to).

Only a few more weeks and then he was out of here. Sure, there were NEWTs coming up, but it wasn't like he cared about doing well, so unlike most of his yearmates, he was completely relaxed and stress-free.

((It's been several days, I'm stealing this open thread.))

Savannah had been ill the day before. So ill, in fact, that she'd missed Defense Against the Dark Arts and spent her entire day in bed with a rubbish bin close by.

What she wouldn't admit to was that she'd spent the day wishing that Bryant would, somehow, read her mind, know that she was sick and force his way into her dorm to take care of her. (Imagine her disappointment when that didn't happen.) He was the only one she really wanted to be around when she felt bad and it had been horrible being alone as she vomited onto a waste bin. (Though, being alone was much better than having one of her annoying dormmates watching.)

"Hey," she gave him a weak smile as she slipped into the seat next to him.

So far, today, she felt fine. She was tired, obviously, but she'd not hugged a trash can all day and that was an improvement.

"Roast beef and mashed potatoes for breakfast?"

Bryant hadn't seen Savannah for all of yesterday. That wasn't entirely unusual, but he could honestly say he was disappointed by it, anyway, because he missed her when she wasn't around. Probably busy with that lame boyfriend of hers, he figured.

He was happy to see her now, though, but his smile turned to a slight frown when he noted how tired she looked.

"It's lunchtime... are you alright?" Yes, those were two separate statements. Concern was kind of overshadowing his need to defend his food choices right now.

Of course, Bryant would assume that Savannah had spent the entire day with Barrett.

"It is lunch time," she agreed with a slight nod. "I bet you just got up, though... and now you're eating roast beef for breakfast."

As she spoke, she flashed him a bright smile and bumped him ever so slightly with her shoulder.

"I'm fine," came her quiet answer. "I was sick yesterday but I'm fine now."

At least, she thought she was fine. She hadn't actually tested that theory with food but, again, she wasn't throwing up and that was definitely an improvement.

Denys was shoving food into himself like a starving man. He'd missed breakfast and lunch for reasons unknown to himself and was in danger of making himself sick. He was at his third serving of some unindentified brown grub and reached for another roll.

'You're eating like a pig. It's disgusting!'

"'m hungry," the boy muttered and drained his glass of juice. The year was reaching its end and he wasn't sure if he was looking forward to the holidays because he hadn't made plans yet.

Thursday, May 11, 2006 - lunch jeremy_pitt June 11 2007, 15:52:22 UTC
Thursdays were busy days. At least, they were now that Jeremy was actually going to class.

He had to be up at the crack of dawn to make it to Care of Magical Creatures and then he had classes throughout the day. His only salvation was the fact that he had double Potions in the afternoons. Sure, he hated class but he enjoyed the subject so it wasn't as torturous.

Lunch was still, by far, his absolute favorite time of the day.

Sitting at the Slytherin table with his normal mound of potatoes and peas, Jeremy's attention would occasionally movie to the entrance of the Great Hall. He was hoping that Nic was going to join him for lunch but he wouldn't have been surprised to find that she'd decided to skip the meal and study for a bit.

NEWTs were soon and though Jeremy wasn't worried about them, the rest of the castle seemed to be.

Well, maybe she wasn't who he was hoping for, but Dari couldn't resist joining Jeremy when she spotted him alone in the Great Hall. It felt like she hadn't seen him in ages and a chance to have lunch with her best friend just wasn't to be wasted.

She grinned as she slipped into the seat next to him. "How's the volcano coming?" she teased as she started to pull some food onto her own plate. Yes, it was well known, especially by Dari, that Jeremy liked to play with his food. It was one of about a million things she loved about him.

"It's not a volcano," he answered with a bright grin. "Technically it's still just a hill but I'm not finished working yet."

Jeremy didn't try to hide his childish habits from Dari. She'd seen him make potato and pea volcanoes since he was a little boy... there was no use in pretending that he didn't still do it.

"How are you?" he asked happily.

No, she wasn't who he was hoping for but he was always happy to see his best friend...

Dari grinned and leaned in to kiss his cheek. It was a simple gesture, one she did without even thinking about it, and it was plain that she was in a relatively decent mood before she even answered him.

"Well, I'm apparently having lunch with my favorite person in the whole world," she teased as she helped herself to some tea, adding some milk and reaching for the honey, "so I'd say I'm doing pretty fantastic."

Yes, finals were approaching, which were stressing her out and she'd been tired and not feeling very well lately, but a simple lunch with Jeremy was enough to make her forget all of that amd just be happy for a bit.

It was a rare occasion but Ashleigh had actually made it to the Great Hall for breakfast before Ed.

Her brow had furrowed slightly as she scanned the Slytherin table for her boyfriend but she'd given a mental shrug, decided that he must be out flying (or something), and took her old seat at her own house table.

Honestly, it had been an age since she'd sat among the Gryffindors for a meal but she was slightly apprehensive about sitting at the Slytherin table alone. At least, she was after her run in with Tobias.

No, she wasn't afraid of the boy or of anyone at that table, for that matter, but Ed's obvious anger over what had happened between her and the younger Slytherin was enough to make her want to avoid future meal time conflicts.
