Monday, February 27th - Evening (Dinner) jojo_jenkins January 2 2007, 23:22:23 UTC
Jojo dropped down onto the Gryffindor bench and started to fill his plate. He eyed some of the more excited 4th years before simply shaking his head and moving up the table a little bit. He grinned at Dom who he ended up opposite. "They're all mental," Jojo informed as if to explain why he moved. It wasn't a surprise really, the noise they were making was absolutely ridiculous. He just wanted to eat in peace!

Dom nodded in agreeance as he sat opposite of Jojo. "You think mealtimes would stop being so exciting after four years of eating three meals a day at the same table," he said with a shake of the head.

"So, what's new?" he asked Jojo as he grabbed an assortment of whatever was nearest to him on the table. He was far too lazy to go on a quest for his favourite dish if it wasn't within arm's reach already.

"Seriously," He grinned, shaking his head a final time as one of the girls screamed. Merlin, where did they even learn to do that!? He started to plough into his dinner quite happily, Jojo had found some Shepherds Pie somewhere along the way. One of his favourite dishes! Especially on horrible weather days like today.

He glanced up at Dom, and swallowed what he was eating. "Not much really," Jojo answered honestly. He was still looking for somewhere private enough to hold his defence meetings...which, still needed a catchier name. "Been trying to do more study than possible," He added with a faint grin. Bloody NEWTs. What ridiculous pressure they were. AND they prevented him from seeing Calie as much as he'd like. "The library's starting to fill with those stressed out 5th years though," Jojo paused and ate some more. "Anything going on with yourself?" He asked when he finished the mouthful.

Dom winced and made a slightly perturbed facial expression as the girl screamed. "You know, as Prefect I could threaten them with taking away points," he said with a wry grin. "But nah, I think I'd have to be crazy to willingly take points away from our own house just for being overenthusiastic about eating,"

He discovered that there was in fact some roast beef nearby and began eating it with gusto. He nodded knowingly at the whole studying bit. He'd just spent the last hour in the library pouring over his Herbology essay. He swallowed, "Yeah, I know what you mean. And there were definitely some fifth years when I was in the library just now, except I think they were all 'Claws. Nora will probably be joining them, soon. Man, they think they're stressed out now.." he took this opportunity to take another mouthful. "Mmm, not too much either," he said. "Mainly trying to see Phoebe as much as I can in between classes and studying,"

Monday February 27 - Lunch jul_agate January 5 2007, 03:07:33 UTC
Jul had spent the whole weeked eating with her dad and quite frankly she was starting to miss Jesse (not to mention worry more again). But he was there Monday just like he always had been the last week or so, waiting for Jul in the alcove near the Great Hall and had walked with her into the building.

Jul smiled brightly, just happy that Jesse was near her after all that had happened (especially on Sunday) It was a perfect way to start the day. "Oi..I forgot the career fair is still here...last day isn't it?"

Jesse nodded as he sat down, dropping his bag on the floor by his feet. "Yeah, last day, hopefully that means Jack will get out of my hair." He was smiling. It was a good look for him, because it was genuine. He'd had a good weekend, he'd put some stuff behind him, stuff was good.

He helped himself to some pumpkin juice. "You learn any exciting stuff from the career fair? Get any good swag?"

"I liked having Jack around." Jul smiled because she know that Jesse secretly missed his brother, they'd been really close and Jesse needed him right now.

Jul chose some fish and chips and started nibbling on them while she watched Jesse. Seeing him happy made her happy. She kind of wished she could know Jack's secret.

She bit her lip and looked down at her plate as he asked, "Oh..um..well we kinda all just threw it in Maggie's bag.." Avoiding answers? Jul? Never... although they had promised to share everything..Jul just didn't think it was appropriate to bring up while eating? Yeah..that was it.

Jesse chuckled slightly as he picked up a pastie and took a big bite. Never as good as the real deal, but still pretty tasty. "I'm sure he enjoyed being around, too," he responded after he swallowed. "I saw him heading back to his table looking awfully cheery that first day. And he's no goood at tying his own ties." He only added that because when Jesse had seen Jack again it was clear that his tie, at least, had been removed and then hastily put back on.

"Potions stuff was pretty interesting," he volunteered himself. "I was gonna check out the Ashworths too, I got a letter thing, something about potions research... but it's more alchemy I thought, which, isn't really my bag of tricks. Not to mention," he lowered his voice a little, "That lot kind of intimidates me. I mean, C'mon, look at Jelly. Nice girl but clearly a little off kilter."

Tuesday, February 28th - Lunch derek_bly January 6 2007, 05:29:32 UTC
The Fair was over, his parents were gone, and Derek could finally relax. Admittedly, it hadn't been so bad having them around- not as bad as it could have been- but all the same he was glad to have Hogwarts back to himself and his parents where they belonged which was home and not asking questions about everything and observing far too much while giving him that smile that said they loved torturing him. Now that they were gone Derek could admit it had been nice to see them but he was glad to have his own space to himself again.

After Runes Derek had gone back to bed and slept, purely because he could, and now he was enjoying a second breakfast of sorts before an afternoon of Potions and Charms. Yes, best to enjoy his freedom while it lasted.

Hannah was practically skipping to the Great Hall. This morning had been quite excellent. And she was currently pretending that she didn't have double potions that afternoon. Her parents were gone today too. Her brother as well, not that she'd bothered to talk to him.

She spotted Derek and slipped into a seat next to him after a quick kiss on the cheek. "Hey you," she said happily as she started to fill her plate up.

Derek looked up and smiled. "Hey yourself." Hannah was clearly in a good mood and Derek for one was not going to complain. "Having a good morning, are we? Are you as glad to have the Hall back as I am because that," Derek emphasized as he offered food her direction, "was a long weekend."

He poured himself a glass of pumpkin juice and let a hand brush against her leg- possibly by accident but probably not- as he took a sip. Maybe things could go back to normal now.

"Yes, I really am. I'm so glad my mom is gone and home and just... away from me." Hannah spoke in an EXTREMELY relieved tone. The best part about the weekend was getting to talk to her dad, of course. "Now, hopefully things can get back to normal."

She smiled to herself when she felt his hand brush against her leg, and moved a bit closer to him while letting her foot find his and rubbing against it. "It was nice meeting your parents though," she said thoughtfully. His parents were so much more normal than hers. "And I really like your dad, he's great."

Re: Tuesday Feb 28th, early morning (breakfast) jesse_martin January 8 2007, 02:41:39 UTC
Jesse thought that maybe today, he'd try some breakfast. Today was, after all, the first day of the rest of his life. Not that every day wasn't... but today was a new start. Today he had a plan. Today things were looking up. Last night had been... today was good. Today was...

Holy HELL, was that...?

Let me tell you. It was.

With quite a loud shriek Jesse ran at Dakota and practically tackled her to the floor. Catching his balance, and hers, at the last moment, he just hugged her, hugged her for all he was worth.

He could have cried he was so happy. In fact if he was being perfectly honest his eyes were a bit misty.

"Where have you been?" He finally managed to get out as he loosened his grip a little. Just a little. "You just... you just left, you didn't even..."

Friday March 3rd at BREAKFAST! hannah_salix January 9 2007, 19:31:07 UTC
Hannah stumbled into the Great Hall. The previous night had been a terrible sleep, she had some very weird dreams. She found a seat at the Ravenclaw Table, which was mostly empty. How lame. Why didn't people like the mornings as much as she did?

Oh well, Hannah started piling food onto her plate. Toast was such a good breakfast food.

((TAG TO MAGGIE!!))

Maggie had gone for her morning run, showered, and tried to wake Jul to no avail. She'd just burrowed deeper into her comforter. So, she skipped down the stairs to breakfast, ignoring that today was Transfiguration. Not many people were up yet, so Maggie slipped in across from Hannah.

"Morning!" She grabbed a piece of toast and took a bite, piling other food onto her plate. Had to load up on energy for the game tomorrow, didn't she?

Grinning at Maggie, Hannah helped herself to some eggs. Ahhh, nice relaxing breafasts. How wonderful. Then, a particularly angry-looking owl showed up. Mum's owl... A wave of dread almost sent Hannah's bite of eggs back up.

The owl (named Nox) dropped the letter on Hannah's plate and proceeded to peck at her toast. "Oi, leave that alone." Nox responded to that by biting her hand.

Whatever. Hannah grabbed the red and smoking letter. Oh dear.... No no no no, this was not good.

Reluctantly, she opened up the letter, only to try and shrink down as much as possible while sticking her fingers in her ears.

A booming and very angry voice magnified so that anyone in the Great Hall could hear started yelling.

HANNAH MAGALIS SALIX! YOU ARE SO LUCKY THAT YOU WEREN'T CAUGHT BEFORE THE CAREER FAIR! MESSING AROUND WITH MUGGLE CONTRAPTIONS IS NOT THE RIGHT BEHAVIOUR FOR A PREFECT! YOU'RE LUCKY YOU HAVEN'T BEEN STRIPPED OF YOUR BADGE! AND USING WEAPONS! I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU LEARNED THAT HORRID BEHAVIOUR BUT IT CERTAINLY WASN'T ME! I DO NOT NEED ( ... )

Sen was sitting on the other side of the table eating his breakfast while going over his homework again. As he raised his cup, Hannah's howler went off causing him to drop his cup spilling tea all over his essay.

The boy stared at his housemate completely ignoring the mess he had just made. He blinked several times before covering his mouth with his napkin to stifle the laughter.
