Braving "Single Father"

I'm fighting persistent gloom, due (I think) to the season change.  Tell me, would "Single Father" distract me, or shatter me?

(My flist has been so good about avoiding spoilers and cutting their reactions that all I really know is that they're continuing to watch.)
