So, this is the school blog system, right? To be honest I'm not all that familiar with such trivial modern technology, but it has been recommended that I post here every once in a while, so I guess I'll give it a shot.
My first week here has been somewhat eventful, to say the very least. The students here all seem pretty troublesome, just like I had anticipated, and there are a certain few who look like teaching them will be a particularly painful experience. However, there are a small handful of students whose responses to the Despairs for the future survey were very promising indeed, and I shall look forward to seeing how they fare in future lessons.
My over-all impression of the school so far isn't all that fantastic- I still can't shake the feeling that I'm being observed -does anyone else get this?- so I'm feeling pretty ill at ease around the campus. I can't say I approved of my rather wet welcome, either. Being struck with a waterballoon on my first week here was certainly not a pleasant experience, especially as I had to spend all of my free time that weekend on the tedious task of drying all of my sopping-wet files with a low-power hair dryer. Thankfully I managed to salvage the majority, though a few were smudged beyond recognition. But seriously, what a way to treat a member of staff. The lack of respect youth these days hold for those above them leaves me in despair!
I never thought I'd ever say this, but I do miss my old school a just a little. Chie-sensei, I wonder if you are reading this? You were always much better with this internet lark than I am, I could do with your help at times like these. I hope everything is going well back at the school. The counselling office must be much less busy nowadays, right?
It didn't escape my notice the amount of effort students spent fretting over which clubs to join and all the painstaking preparation that went into organising the club recruitment. As commendable as such effort was, such energy is better spent on your studies! Students, be sure not to become to wrapped up in your club activities and fall behind in class, because there will be consequences. Be sure to spend your time at this school wisely.
That's about it for today, I must get back to marking work. I'll be seeing you all in social studies.
